So you don't see anything wrong that some gave total false information just to move the SP of a stock. I don't want to believe you can go this low to move SP abi I am missing something. He didn’t share research work
So strategy of lies and deciet is welcomed by your standard
What made you think he lied?

A personal opinion cannot be a lie. For all you know he could have genuinely believed that the pictures he posted were from the site. Heck Alibaba could have used pictures from the site for their website.

My point is that when people say do your own due diligence it is not just a buzz word. You don't know me personally and as such you have no reason to trust me. Husband and wife sef no dey trust each other completely much less person wey you meet for internet

The Nigerian stock market opened today on a mixed note, with most counters slightly in the red. This is normal market behaviour and not a cause for concern. In fact, marginal pullbacks often create entry opportunities for investors who have done their homework.

The key is to stay calm, be patient, and never rush a decision.

——

*What Is Happening in the Market*

When a market opens mixed or slightly red after a strong run, it usually means two things. First, some investors are taking profits from recent gains. Second, the market is looking for its next direction. This is called consolidation and it is a healthy part of any bull market cycle.

The Nigerian market has returned over 40 percent year to date. A slight pause is not surprising.

——

*Stocks Worth Researching This Week*

These are not buy recommendations. They are names generating discussion among investors and analysts, worth putting on your personal research list.

*Aradel Holdings*
One of the strongest energy stocks on the NGX. The company has significant oil production assets and has benefited from higher oil prices. With Brent crude above $100, energy names like Aradel deserve attention. Research their production capacity and recent financials before forming a view.

*MTN Nigeria (MTNN)*
Nigeria's largest telco by subscribers. Revenue has been under pressure due to regulatory challenges but the business remains fundamentally strong. Analysts believe the stock may be finding a base at current levels. Worth watching for signs of momentum.

*NAHCO (Nahco Aviance)*
An aviation ground handling company. The stock recently underwent a price adjustment following a bonus share issue and dividend payment. Price adjustments like this sometimes create buying opportunities as the market reprices the stock. Research the company's earnings and growth prospects before deciding.

*Dangote Cement*
The largest cement company in Africa by capacity. Nigeria's infrastructure push and ongoing construction activity support long-term demand for cement. The stock has had a strong year. Investors looking at it now should consider buying gradually rather than all at once.

*WAPCO (Lafarge Africa)*
Another cement company worth watching. Has been making operational improvements. Cement as a sector tends to benefit from government capital expenditure and housing development.

——

*Banking Sector — Names to Study*

Nigerian banks have had a strong run this year driven by high interest rates and foreign exchange gains. Two names that consistently top analyst coverage are GTCO and Zenith Bank.

*GTCO* is known for its efficiency, strong return on equity, and consistent dividend payments. It is often considered a benchmark for Nigerian banking quality.

*Zenith Bank* is the largest bank by total assets. It has been closing the performance gap with GTCO in recent quarters and trades at a slightly lower valuation, which some investors find attractive.

For investors willing to be patient and take a longer view, *UBA* and *Access Corporation* offer exposure to pan-African banking operations beyond Nigeria, which adds diversification.

Among smaller banks, *Wema Bank* has shown impressive improvement in profitability metrics in recent years and is worth researching for investors interested in smaller capitalisation banking names.

——

*Growth and Technology Stocks*

*CWG Plc* is one of the few technology-focused companies on the NGX. It provides IT infrastructure and digital solutions to businesses and government agencies. In a market dominated by banks and consumer goods companies, CWG offers a different kind of exposure. Research their recent contracts and revenue growth.

*Chams Holding* operates in identity management and payment systems. An interesting business in the digital finance space but still developing. Best approached with caution and a long time horizon.

*TIP (Trans-Nationwide Express)*
A logistics and courier company. The business model is straightforward and benefits from growing e-commerce activity in Nigeria. The stock has pulled back recently which may be worth investigating further.

——

*For New Investors — Where to Begin*

If you are just starting out and feel overwhelmed by the number of stocks available, focus on understanding a few well-known companies first. Look at their business, how they make money, and whether they have been profitable consistently.

A simple starting framework:
— One energy stock (example: Aradel)
— One telco (example: MTNN)
— One bank (example: GTCO or Zenith)
— One consumer goods company (example: Dangote Cement)

Build slowly. Invest only what you can afford to leave untouched for at least two to three years.

——

*Final Thought*

End of month is approaching. Investors who set aside a fixed amount to invest every month regardless of market conditions tend to build more wealth over time than those who try to time the market perfectly.

Consistency beats timing. Every time.

Stay calm. Stay focused. Keep learning.

You don’t need to rush.
Take time to understand the “Tortoise Investor” mindset, this is exactly what you’re signing up for when you invest in any of Tony Elumelu’s listed companies.
Tony has a proven track record of building lasting value. With patience and consistency, you can realistically double your Transcorp Plc holdings in about 3 years and Transcorp Power in around 4 years.

This good I have a feeling they couldn't synchronize the NIN with the tax ID hence the reason to settle for tax ID as this would be generated by the states.

But people entered WAPCO at ₦30 based on charts and technical analysis, or do you think TA traders only buy stocks like Zichis? TA traders enter stocks not because the financial statements say so; they often don’t even look at them. They look at charts and price action.

I remember telling you, based on the charts, that WAPCO was a buy at ₦30. I can even bring up that post if you want to argue about it.
Real investors and traders usually use both.

Fundamentals to know the quality of what you’re buying. Is it worth buying? Is it overvalued or undervalued?

Technical analysis to know how it is trading or how it trades. Uptrend or downtrend? Are moving averages reliable for trading the stock? Is it at a resistance and ready to breakout? Is the price movement predictable or random etc

Sentiment to know whether it’s time for quick money or whether the market is risk off.

Other analysis can be used as well. Example: seasonality. That is, does the market tend to rally at certain periods? Etc.

Combining these greatly improve your chances of success.

Cheers

Iskalamong!

I'm not sure what this trying to say. If you double interest rates and collapse your currency, by default your economy becomes more attractive to foreign investors.

And your people and local economy will suffer greatly.

So a better illustration would be to add some measure that tracks poverty to the line graph.

I recorgnize the 'brutal' individuality of players in the market you alluded to here but using deliberate falsehood to lure people into what can potentially make them bankrupt because you can squeeze some benefit from their misfortune is a no no and shameful.

nosa2:
Low key you guys actually believe there is some sort of brotherhood in the stock market.

WE ARE TRADING AGAINST EACH OTHER!!!!

All strategies are justified. Loco promoted Japaul, I looked at it, thought he was bonkers and I moved on.

All this fantasy believe that some guru is here to give you magical stock tips is delulu. But we are here for it.

The only thing I can give altruistically is knowledge on how to value stocks. So ask me for book recommendations or for me to explain something and I will gladly help. But if you think someone will do the hard work of researching several companies to find a hidden gem and then give it away freely...... you are on a long thing.

P.S Dont forget to buy Access Bank tomorrow
