GeneralDae:Institutional investors e.g. pension fund custodians, cooperatives etc can virtually take up everything especially niow that PENCOM has given them a waiver to allow them invest as much as posdible in the IPO. It could even be oversubscribed. Only that the devaluation of the naira will now give advantage to foreign investors over Nigerians |

mikeapollo:You are right. But on the bright side, this also opens up the stock market to foreign retail investors who would now buy more naira in their numbers because they know they would collect dividends in dollars afterall. |

No such thing as 'as much as possible' where Pension finds are concerned. There is a max they can invest in equities (25% or so), and no matter the IPO, it would be stupid for a fund manager to dump ALL their allocation into it. mikeapollo: |

deathwing:Did you read the release by PENCOM on the waiver granted to pension fund custodians wrt to the IPO? The "as much as possible" is within the context of what the new waiver permits them. |

faoogoke: mikeapollo:So you think an Invitation-Only Private Placement that an investor can't buy less than 50M - 100M units, will sell at the same price with those their minimum share order will be 500units or 1000 units? Do you really understand what a Private Placement is? Even in the open food market, when you want to buy 1 paint of Tomato, you talk to the tomato seller. But when you want to buy a trailer load of tomato, the person you talk to and the price will be different. Private Placement Investors will have a round-table meeting with Refinery Management and see the Financial Statement. For IPO buyers, consult your Stockbroker. |

222Martins:What you have in mind is the typical, normal private placenent which is usually done quietly until after it is concluded and is mostly for raising capital at higher prices after the shares are listed. But this time Alhaji has indicated that he wants to give ordinary Nigerians to own part of the refinery, so it would be curious to sell the share to Otedollar or Elumelu at N500 and sell it you and I at N700. The motive is different from the normal PP that we all know. I think he is only giving them PP so that their application units can be allotted in full instead of them going through the IPO and getting only part allotment and cash refunds. |

| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by faoogoke(m): 12:34pm On May 22 |
I am sure you dont understand my statement. I am suggesting the Private placements could be interest shown my certain person due to their closness to Dangote or otherwise. There was never a mention of private placement as we know it. If its private placement then the next step would be to list and no IPO. You expect all these to happen before now and September? Persons are only taking position for the IPO. Dangote is not doing private placement as we know it. 222Martins: |
