A Nigerian lady has sparked intense debate on social media after criticizing what she described as a growing pattern of emotionally and financially manipulative relationships involving some married men in Abuja.

In a viral post, the woman alleged that certain married men deliberately pursue young female corps members and junior workers who are still struggling to establish themselves financially in the city.

According to her, the process often begins innocently.

A young woman managing life on a modest income and paying rent within her means suddenly meets an older, financially comfortable man. The man begins providing support, introduces her to a more expensive lifestyle, upgrades her accommodation, and gradually becomes a major part of her daily life.

The lady claimed that in some cases, these men discourage the women from pursuing relationships with other men while encouraging loyalty and emotional commitment despite being legally married themselves.

Her biggest criticism, however, came from what she described as the ending of such relationships.

According to her, after months or even years of financial support and emotional investment, some of these men eventually decide to return fully to their marriages, sometimes citing religious transformation, family responsibilities, or a desire to focus on their wives.

The women involved, she argued, are often left to deal with the emotional and financial consequences of a lifestyle they may no longer be able to sustain independently.
