"Nigerians will think about ''what next'' after they deal with the ''present problem''."

The same sentiment that gave us PMB. What have they said they would do differently? Obi said he will give us 10K MW of electricity, where will the money come from? is he doing PPP ? Will private players be incentivized to continue investing in the power sector when the market isnt liberalized? Will Obi remove electricity subsidy when he is criticizing fuel subsidy removal?, the same policy he advocated in 2023.

The so-called oppositiona are disgruntled politicians who just want Tinubu out. I doubt they know what to do with power if entrusted to them. Tinubu is deeply flawed, but I dont see any of the top opposition candidates faring better. In fact, I fear we may lose the little macroeconomic gains that brings us all together on the blog on a platter useless populism that mya be introduced by Obi or Atiku.
GenCos are private companies.

Today, the FG is owing the companies several billions in unpaid subsidy spanning many years.

Even if subsidy is totally removed, it will still take a couple of years before we get any significant improvement.

It is a catch 22 situation.

Exactly my thoughts.

So, how does Obi want to tackle this? Continue with the subsidies and keep owing the GenCos or remove subsidy and make Nigerians suffer paying cost-reflective tariff for power?

Based on the ones contesting BAT is not an option for 2027 aa he has failed for the first tenure...I hope the French is now clear
Hummm, I pick him as an option because I don't want another trial and error (or reversals like the Yaradua administration) for another 4 years.

I welcome one from you Sir, maybe I can consider and change my mind.

And some one who wants to spend just four years thinks that adding 10,000 megawatts will solve all the problems.

I think the country already has the capacity to generate 10,000 megawatts of electricity.
One major problem is transmission and another one is a competitive tarrif .

But someone who has been to Egypt thinks the solution to Nigeria' s power problem is generating 10,000 MW from the moon.

Truth is, not until people get there before they know the problem is deep.

If anyone is elected today and spends the entire first four years facing a problematic sector in Nigeria, he cannot solve HALF the problem.

Not until aspirants recognizes the fact that the education sector starts from the primary to the tertiary with all the attachments.
Not until they recognizes the fact therein in the health sector.

Why do u people keep changing the narrative. Which sentiments brought PMB
Is it not this present failure that ganged up to remove gej and made the failure Buhari possible. I don't expect you to remember that as the present is even worst than pmb

“Over the next four years, I commit to ensuring a minimum of 10,000 megawatts increase in power generation and distribution,” he said.
That's the actual quote. But no wahala, lets continue with the new oligarchs and emperors that put us in Band A while doing solar for the villa so that the remaining 100 of us that are alive by 2031 can finally enjoy 24hrs power after hanging his cap outside our door.

Have you forgotten who your candidate is, so soon?
Have not back tracked frim your assurance of victory in the coming election?

Is your usage of " we" a campaign slogan?

He forgot to add Transmission. You would have done well to help him insert that. Abi no be three legs tripod dey get?

10,000MW and Distribution then boom, light every where. Boom, power problem solved. It is doable in the four years he swore to spend. Including making our universities some of the best in Africa not even to go too far. Including bringing back all our Doctors in the diaspora to man the world class facilities to be built within the four years.

If there is a snake in your room (a present danger or problem), you don't worry about the bad road or poor electricity in your area.

And which useless little macroeconomic gains bring you all together? Tinubu too was doing useless populism! He cannot be treated differently because there is nothing special or fantastic about him and his govt. He was also a disgruntled politician who just wanted to become president!

Let Nigerians vote who they want in 2027! Period!

The problem is not deep. It is not rocket science. If we are even seeing traction, we can say let's manage but after 4 years no measurable progress. Absolutely nothing! Instead it went from bad to worst. Any CEO who delivered such a bad KPI result would have been sacked a long time ago. The worst part is they spent billions deploying solar on government house and left us to rot, instead of using the money to pay down the debt.

That action was louder than any promise made till date.
