megawealth01:The only challenge I discovered as it concerns this type of gambling is that when you played and lost 100k you didn't tell us but when you win you broadcast it. Both of us, in fact all of are guilty of this, so when I want to tell myself the truth I understand that if I can't share the loose I shouldn't share the win also so that feeble minded people don't loose their money thinking I am encouraging them to gamble because both loose and win do happen. |

ositadima1:Wrong! Every IPO or PO raises fresh capital What you described here, how is it different from listing by introduction? |

Agbalowomeri:He is not listing the company at 20b, it is probably going to be listed at 50b. That singular act is expected to at least double his net worth. That is how the rich get richer. He doesn't need the money from the masses for expansion, there are other avenues available to him. |

Agbalowomeri:But Dangote recently revealed he rejected NNPC ‘s bid to increase their stake in his refinery. He has also repeatedly claimed he will be listing to allow ordinary Nigerians part ownership of the refinery. He also claimed he was selling only 10% of the entire refinery and it will be across some African exchanges. |

pluto09:So your argument is that the company is not worth $50B conservatively? Even when the production doubles? Dangote is a highly gentleman ![]() If na me, nothing wey go make me list at less than $100B even with a production capacity of 700,000 |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by deathwing(m): 2:27pm On Jun 07 |
Agbalowomeri:lol, how much upside does a refinery listing have? The technology is not revolutionary. We have had it more than a century. One air strike or terrorist sabotage with a drone and everything grinds to a halt. Even if Dangote is the only one refining fuel in Africa, he can only refine so much with what is on ground. $100b ko 😆😆. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by isaacosas01(m): 2:27pm On Jun 07 |
Agbalowomeri:There are some basics finance principle everyone in finance knows bro. That a refinery was built for $20B doesn’t give it valuation above $20B, its doesn’t work like that. In finance we say replacement cost ≠ market value. A refinery is worth what its cash flows justify, not what it cost to build. |

Svoboda:my goal is help people peel the fear from them. Fear is why many people make some irrational decisions and prevent some from even investing. Maybe if someone makes them see how things works, they will be encouraged to take risks more. "When knowledge is known, it's no more a risk"-- Muktar Muhammad |

| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by pluto09(m): 2:33pm On Jun 07 |
Agbalowomeri:I have not seen the prospectus to know exactly what the worth of the company is. I am just speaking hypothetically about IPO generally and the antecedent of the man at the center of the whole issue. What we have for now is a 700,000b/d and the valuation should reflect that. The valuation will definitely not be the same when the production doubles. This is the time for him to get some benefits for his labour so he is free to price the company as much as he wishes. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by isaacosas01(m): 2:43pm On Jun 07 |
pluto09:With these valuations only Dangote himself and Private placement (institutional investor) will make money. |

Agbalowomeri:As in ehen!! All of them are looking at the cash invested. They are valuing the risk Alhaji took, his time and effort at zero. Wickedness in high places. I am not buying sha. It is against my religion to buy IPO or PO. Only thing I can consider is rights issue |

isaacosas01:This refinery exported Jet fuel of at least 158000 bpd in March and April. They supplied over 80% of Nigeria’s petrol (Nigeria is roughly a $10 Billion petrol market) in addition to petrol exports. They also dominate supply of diesel in Nigeria , and are second largest source of LPG in the country. When you add petrochemicals of roughly $100 million monthly also, the business should comfortably make close to a $2 Billion revenue on a good day while spending around $1.3 Billion on crude oil |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeneralDae: 4:06pm On Jun 07 |
Streetinvestor2:Refineries of this scale around the world are actually worth that amount and even slightly more now. |

toyeoye: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JR50FQIQN2A?si=Af9e2nQH88_gve70 Look at the video above. Do you have access to complete market flow data similar to what brokers use? I’m not sure whether you can build something like this. It doesn’t need to be as complicated; even a simple heat map that highlights liquidity would be useful in real time. Please take a look at the video and understand what is being explained. Thanks. |

GeneralDae:Give me one example. Just 1 example of refineries around the world of this scale with this ridiculous valuation. |

isaacosas01:I meant the amount it takes to build it. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by toyeoye(m): 4:40pm On Jun 07 |
ositadima1:Thanks for sharing this... I know exactly the type of market flow visualization you're referring to. The challenge on NGX is data access. NGX does make deeper data available through its premium licensing arrangements, but the economics are quite different from the public market data feed we currently use. It introduces significant licensing costs and redistribution restrictions. That said, there may be a middle ground. Using the data we currently receive, we can potentially build simplified liquidity and market participation indicators that wouldn't be true order-book heatmaps, but they could still provide useful real-time insight into where attention and liquidity are moving across the market. We're actively exploring ways to surface more of these signals without requiring the expensive institutional-grade data feeds. |
