That exactly is the problem. I think the politicians are trying to ensure Tinubu is not able to use the NGX growth as an achievement. The downward trend started the week someone linked the NGX growth to Tinubu's policy. I may be wrong.

For now, I will stay on the sideline watching the happenings until after election.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by deathwing(m): 3:19pm On Jun 19
Bruh, nobody cares about the stock market as a metric. There are only like 1m active traders, most of them onboarded in the last year. It's not so important a statistic since it doesn't actually mean anything. People can't buy bread on the road, people can't pay Band A light, people can't travel from Lagos to Oyo without doing night-vigil beforehand. Nobody us going to vote Tinubu because some people in Lagos made 100% on MTN.

Oasisblue:
BREAKING: Israel has launched a new overnight ground advance into southern Lebanon with Hezbollah forces engaging Israeli troops directly at zero distance, destroying 4 Israeli military vehicles and downing helicopters during evacuation flights. This follows 20+ Israeli airstrikes that leveled residential buildings and killed at least 18 people, including entire families, in the heaviest assault since the ceasefire, per Al Jazeera.

Over this violation of the Iran-US MOU's first clause, Iran has suspended negotiations with the US and the Switzerland trip, with VP Vance also cancelling his trip in response.

Iran now says it will not unilaterally implement any MOU commitments until the U.S. does the same and attacks in Lebanon permanently stop, per Fars.
So Israel only killed ''18 people, including entire families.....'' . So no single member of Hezbollah was even touched by Israel?.
When terrorists are killed by Israel, the propaganda machine call them ''people'', ''civilians'', ''families'' etc. Same strategy in Gaza. It is always 1000 ''Palestinians'', ''civilians'' killed by Israel etc. They never mention that Hamas members were killed.

Bro, it is not just about traders. There are millions of other people who invest in stocks for future and for their children, i am not a trader but I put some money (small though) on stocks like many others. If the value grows, I would be happy.

Also, even if you don't have anything to do with NGX and you are an independent observer of event, that stock value is growing may convince you that the government is doing something. It is the same reason Trump rushes to social media each time stock value goes up in the US.

They have too much cash in that business. And I think the Chinese want to extract as much as they can, so it’s good for us the minority shareholders. I shouted haaa when I heard what they’re planning to pay, I thought the capex would affect dividend.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by deathwing(m): 3:44pm On Jun 19
There no 'millions' of other people. There are only 1.3m max. The stats are public, that's why I say it's not an achievement metric. Literally less than 1.5m people are in the entire Nigerian stock market.
