Market set to have its worst day in this slowest month of the year. 5200 points shaved off the index courtesy of 100k finally moving on the cement guys.

BUAFOODS, MTNN SEPLAT are all also on full offer, 100k on any of them would compound the fall. But the correction was needed, and it's good for our market.
But it's not good for my account oo. cry

grin grin grin grin I can Imagine.
Maybe a lesson here is to sometimes take profit. maybe bit by bit.

I have a relatively heavy crash on my NAHCO position, but I keep imagining the person Pa Emma mentioned as having 4 million units of the stock just 2 months ago when it was doind 250. If that person never sold, his holdings have gone from N1bn to now just around N560m in 2 months.

As it stands, the 10k rule will only affect 7 tickers should it come into effect, for most other stocks things would remain as is: AIRTELAFRI, ARADEL, GEREGU, NESTLE, OKOMUOIL, PRESCO, and SEPLAT.
Take out GEREGU, now just 6!

They have too much cash in that business. And I think the Chinese want to extract as much as they can, so it’s good for us the minority shareholders. I shouted haaa when I heard what they’re planning to pay, I thought the capex would affect dividend.
Well done Sir. I want to pick your brain a little. With the recent name change by Lafarge, do you have any idea what their plans are? Do you think they intend to remain listed, or go private?

The only positive reason i can guess is preparation to take position in Dangote refinery IPO in september.
Not majorly the reason.

Institutional investors don't chase IPOs like how retailers and HNIs do. That's like gambling with investors fund.

What is actually going on is simple; the real correction, now correction started last week with banking sector, it's just now spreading to other sectors.

Now why is it happening in stages?

That's because of social media stocks influencers. No doubt, retail participation has increased because of them but then again, these guys lacks technical analysis knowledge but knows all the fundamentals analysis of all companies in the NGX.

So what tends to happen is, when a stock fall a little these guys on Nairaland and Twitter will begin hyping the stock fundamentals ignoring technical analysis making innocent ignorant investors rush into it preventing the stock from correction but they again, they forget that if institutional buyers does not come to the market, the market will never move up.

Then eventually the sector will crash.

I see it playing out, I just sit back and just laugh because Twitter and Nairaland are contributing to the market sentiment.

This sentiment shouldn't be between us retail investors, it should be between us retail investors VS institutional investors.

They will remain listed.
The name Lafarge belonged to Holcim. Had to be changed within a year of the acquisition.

I had to submit mine through Stanbic Ibtc bank. They have a dedicated account for the rights issue. You fill the customized form and do your transfer to the dedicated account and that's it. I did mine today.
Sold some of my dangsugar on the floor and used the proceeds to buy the rights.
