All these analysis because of the red in market.... People will always say something to justify anything whereas the cause of the downturn in the market is majorly unknown..... Meanwhile, ARADEL is getting some patronage in the market despite being down........lots of picks at days low, 1275.80..... Offers drastically reducing.... Those guys crossing are now buying on the floor I think.... Hope they move it back up today....... |

Lol. I see people who seemed to have missed the train of some high-performing stocks giddy with happiness that the prices are crashing, while those that entered earlier and didnt take profit at 52-wek highs are groaning seeing their profits being wiped out ![]() yMcy56: |

July 2026 is the crunch month for *NIIRA 2025* — the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act. *What’s happening with NIIRA right now:* - *Hard deadline: July 30, 2026*. NAICOM has said repeatedly there will be no extension. - *New minimum capital*: Life = N10bn, Non-life = N15bn, Composite = N25bn, Reinsurers = N35bn. That’s up from N2bn/N3bn/N10bn before. - *12-month window*: The clock started July 31, 2025 when President Tinubu signed it. - *What’s at stake*: Firms that don’t meet it by July 30 face licence withdrawal, forced consolidation, or other regulatory action. *Why insurance stocks are in focus this month:* 1. *Capital raises + M&A activity*: 6 insurers are reportedly approaching the capital market to raise ~N60bn. SUNU, Linkage, Veritas Kapital, Regency Alliance have already sought shareholder approvals. Expect more rights issues, private placements, or merger news before July 30. 2. *Survivors vs. exits*: Estimates say 17-21 firms are already above the new thresholds on FY 2024 accounts. Another ∼18 have plans on file, but a dozen are in a “red zone”. NAICOM + Big Four auditors are verifying by end-June. 3. *Consolidation premium*: NAICOM says recapitalisation should create stronger, larger firms that can underwrite bigger risks and attract investment. Markets often price in that “stronger balance sheet” story ahead of the deadline. 4. *Policy tailwinds*: NIIRA also mandates 60-day claims settlement with N500,000 fines for delays. That’s meant to boost public trust + penetration, which is still <1% of GDP. *“Pleasant surprises” to watch for:* - *Rights issues/private placements closing*: Sovereign Trust did N1.5bn statutory deposit + N5bn rights issue. Others likely announcing final tranche this month. - *Mergers/acquisitions*: Weaker players may announce tie-ups to hit the capital mark. - *NAICOM’s compliance list*: The regulator hasn’t published a list of compliant firms yet. When it does, names on it could see a sentiment boost. *Quick reality check / risks:* - Timeline is tight: Banks had 2 years for their recap, insurance got 1 year. - Capital definition is strict: Goodwill, deferred tax assets, unsecured loans etc. don’t count. - Not financial advice: Stock moves on regulation can be volatile. Some firms may miss and be forced out. If you’re tracking specific tickers, the ones to watch are those that have already disclosed capital raises or statutory deposits, plus any reinsurers with the N35bn hurdle. |

yMcy56:This scenario is best suited for Access holdings. Not ARADEL at the moment. Aradel still has some weight to shed. Meanwhile, Access holding is badly battered that even ground level feels like another trap. |
