faoogoke:Lamenting doesn't help. Do something about it, or, if you can't, ignore it. As Street would say, I don't see you contributing here very often. Some of the people you're lamenting about contribute far more than you do. If you're always taking from the wisdom of others without making a commensurate contribution, you should be humble. |

Valthegreat:The idea that Lagos is the most cosmopolitan city in Nigeria is wrong. What is true is that it is the most populated. Abuja, Warri, Benin, Jos, Kaduna etc are more cosmopolitan but less populated South Easterners are not more than Hausa in Lagos and Akwa Cross people may even be more than SE people. For example I was in Lekki and I worked with as many Akwa cross people as Igbos if Akwa cross people are not slightly more. If you want to be sure of how they compare then you must go after real data and it is not expensive to do that. For example, select twenty high schools across the state and determine the ethnic make up of the student population and the result will approximate the ethnic make up of the state. Bland statements can not substitute for real data. I can say too that because the Yoruba win over 90 percent of the political posts in Lagos that they are ninety five percent of the population but no scientist would take me serious Lagos is surrounded by Yoruba states and the majority of new people entering the state are Yoruba. All estimates and studies put the Yoruba population in Lagos at over seventy percent and only a quarter of what is left can be Igbo meaning less than 7.5 percent I think Nigeria is better divided for everybody to know their true weight and develop at their own pace. Igbo are not automatically the second largest in any state but they can be in states that border their land |

megawealth01:All estimates put it at over 70 percent. Have you seen any estimate by any reputable body putting at less than that? I did not say 75 percent |

lawani:Continue no wahala. Some monikers are only waiting for my post to start shouting delete him or kpai him Why the school not the markets all over lagos as many igbos going to lagos is for commerce purposes. Why are the Obas and the mc group so bent on not allowing this insignificant number vote as thr votes was not going to make any difference in some of the lga in lagos .They even put threat to life to stop them from voting in lagos. Then again my name no good for some people mouth we for done cover plenty pages today on this matter |

Streetinvestor2:School is where you can get what you need. A market of 5000 traders can be serving a population of one million people |

megawealth01:I tell you this: Only a govt that cannot tell you how it has improved the well being and security of the people, would be using ''reforms'' as its yardstick for success! Because there is nothing concrete about ''reforms' |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by lawani(m): 4:27pm On Jul 07 |
Streetinvestor2:Do the SE people living in the SW move out of the SW when they marry and start having kids? If not, then the percentage of SE origin kids in SW schools will approximate the percentage of SE people living in the SW. I hope it is clear |

| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Oasisblue: 4:30pm On Jul 07 |
Reforms are reflected in macroeconomic indices. The State governors who are supposed to utilize increased allocations to impact people's lives directly and enhance micreconomic indices are doing nothing really. Curiously, Nigerians hardly ever hold them accountable. TBF, I would rather be a governor than President in Nigeria, if I ever go into politics. mikeapollo: |

lawani:Which School here Is it secondary or tertiary. The youths and Unmarried are the major part of SE living in lagos. That is because of economic opportunities it holds for many reasons over yrs. Many families will prefer to send thr children to SE because of large missionary school.I am not talking of the few expensive schools in lagos which is for the rich |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by lawani(m): 4:39pm On Jul 07 |
Streetinvestor2:No market contains one million traders in Nigeria. Lagos state can not even contain 15 million buildings standing. How many people work in Alaba or Ladipo etc? What is the total population of the local government hosting those markets?. I don't think there is any market where 100k people own stalls in Nigeria Workers in Lagos are maximum of 7 million. There can't be two million traders in total and the vast majority are petty traders who are Yoruba people. Almost half of Alaba is Yoruba etc etc. There are markets dominated by Hausa as well. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Valthegreat(m): 4:41pm On Jul 07 |
lawani:If you are not afraid of the South East population in Lagos I want you to start a campaign to all Yoruba leaders to allow everyone vote freely in Lagos during the next cycle of elections because the numbers of Igbos in Lagos are infinitesimal and wouldn't change anything. If their numbers don't matter why are you shouting South East everywhere and not redirect your focus to Akwa/Cross that you are afraid of? Why are you and your fellow data boys always focusing on the part of the population that doesn't matter in numbers? Oboy leave tribalism, it has never developed any society in the history of the world. Let us all join hands to move our country forward for the benefit of all. If any leader goes wrong we should call him out with one voice so that they will stop taking us for granted. Else, we should all join our voices together to divide this British contraption serving their purpose without benefitting us. |
