It's (like) a stock listed on NGX you can buy or sell. Got listed December 2025. Doesn't have much activities yet but traded daily. They have real estate/properties in Lagos Free Trade Zone and in Abuja with rent paid in $ for most and they plan to pay out income in the currency it is earned (the registrar sent email recently to be supplied dorm account details for that). However, the last distribution declared was in Naira. Plan to pay quarterly. It's hala compliant. Managed by ChapelHillDenHam (like NIDF). dammybrite: |

Itzlinda:But the naira has gone from ~750 - ~1350 in the same time period. That's a reduction in currency value by 50%. 95% refuction in peso, yet your GDP per capita cannot be compared. "Argentina's GDP per capita is significantly higher than Nigeria's in both nominal and purchasing power parity (PPP) terms. Recent global economic metrics indicate that an average individual in Argentina commands substantially higher economic output and purchasing power than an individual in Nigeria." ..... wage.is, georank.org |

Zagee:When talking about GDP per capita, one thing to consider is POPULATION. Argentina has a population of 46 Million. Nigeria has a population of 245 Million. We have NEARLY 200 Million MORE people than Argentina. In fact, you can remove 5 Argentinas from Nigeria in terms of population and still have enough people left to populate SMALL country. A HUGE disparity in population like that will inevitably skew per capita computations. That said, their TOTAL GDP is still HIGHER than Nigeria's.....and that of ALL other countries in Africa. But when you compute TOTAL GDP in terms of Purchasing Power Parity, Nigeria's is HIGHER. One of ONLY 2 countries in Africa to manage that. Finally, Argentina's GDP also comes with a FAT debt of $549 BILLION resulting in over 80.3% Debt-to-GDP ratio. Compared to Nigeria's GDP which comes with a debt of $103 Billion and a Debt-to-GDP ratio of 35.5%. Fun fact: Argentina also has a HIGHER GDP per capita and GDP per capita PPP than China. Let that SINK in. |

Zagee:not entirely true.... the dollar deregulation affected our gdp which was higher than Argentina pre 2024.... while Argentina turned oil 270 million dollars deficit into $7.5 billion surplus by 2025, moreso argentina is 45million population compareed with 230million nigeria.... cut the north from nigeria and we'd be far better than norway |

NSEMPA, this may again get lost in the sea of complaints recently aired on this issue, but I must speak on the incessant derailing of this thread—especially by our senior members. While political discussions might be helpful to some, I can speak for myself when I say they are highly distracting. I take time to scroll through this thread looking for genuine insights and knowledge on the NGX, but instead, we are greeted with a lot of topics that simply do not belong here. I highly respect and look up to the knowledge shared in this community. There are people here whom I don't know personally, but from whom I learn so much. While it is completely normal for a thread to occasionally drift off-topic, this persistent lack of focus needs to be corrected. I humbly ask that we all consider this. Newbies like myself really want to see this great group maintain its focus. |

gwinedev:Don't fret too much, the unending back and forth about politics is a recurring and selfcuring SYMPTOM of the present status of the market 🙄 |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by chimex38: 11:57pm On Jul 14 |
gwinedev:Market is sideways. Noting outstanding on many commonly held stocks until probably Q2 results are out. Hence vacuum is filled with other happenings.. That said, A newbie who wants to learn can start reading from the beginning of this thread or from few years ago or selected Monikas, etc.. to while away time. I suppose it gives "newbies" even more opportunity to catch up? Also, Don't you think you can also contribute latest happenings on stocks? Others might join you. By this, you also contribute and help to reduce the "distraction" rather than always waiting to read from others as default mode ![]() When major companies and stocks begin activities, trust me the thread will auto recallibrate.. ![]() For now, Bear with the WorldCup ![]() World Wars andour forthcoming Election Politikings ![]() |

Namaster:What matters is PRODUCTIVITY, and not necessarily Population. Nigeria's problem us that our productivity is low due to poor infrastructure, low literacy levels, access to credit, human development index, high cost of doing business etc |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ositadima1(m): 1:28am On Jul 15 |
Namaster:It is quite simple to understand. Based on these numbers, the average Argentinian enjoys a better standard of living than the average Nigerian or Chinese. That is what this long epistle is saying. A family of four earning ₦500,000 per month has a higher standard of living than a family of fifteen earning ₦1 million per month. Nigeria's GDP is sometimes higher than that of some European countries, including Norway, but its GDP per capita is much lower by comparison. So, it is not just about how much a country earns, but how much of that income each person effectively enjoys. |

Lol. O ga o. This is getting ridiculous, even desperate. You cite a man clearly talking in 2025 about recent Argentine economic policy that was in effect since only 2023 when Milei became president on a reform platform. But you show the drop in the peso since the early 2000s -- 20 years ago! Oya, do the chart of the naira from 2000 and let's blame the current president na. ![]() Itzlinda: Agbalowomeri: |

crownprince2017:Thank you for your observation. I thought am the only one observing this trend. When issues are raised and discussed, trash it objectively and possibly let your stand be known. When some other issues come you do the same. You don't take matters personally because it doesn't favour you and you can not always have the support of everyone in all matters. No man knows it all. If you always petty with argument when you are losing out, it shows immaturity. It is really funny how a human being changes like weather. Today you maybe on the same side of a debate with someone and tomorrow you maybe in opposing sides for another topic. You don't throw tantrums and rubbish all you had earlier stood for and argued about just because the fellow do not see things the way you see them in the present topic being discussed. Life goes on. ![]() |

nosa2:Too bad Sir 😞 With Nsempa turning into politics/football commentary thread and fast losing its purpose, another sane forum on stocks discussions such as Ngxforum would have been a better alternative, and this will be discovered over time by most people. Your perspective is well understood but you shouldn't have quit so easily like that....... Anyway, you've tried. You're a winner, and a winner you'll always be. 🏆 I wish you well Sir 🎊 🎉 |

Itzlinda:Yet Argentina has a better standard of living than Nigeria despite its weak peso, because, in the end, it is not only the value of your currency that determines how well a country is doing. By the way, Argentina's minimum wage is about US$250 per month, while Nigeria's is about US$46 per month. Both countries are highly dependent on imports. So, who do you think can afford more? Who is more likely to wear better jeans, shirts, and shoes? Who can more easily buy better imported phones and laptops? Who is more likely to drive better used "tokunbo" cars? ![]() |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo: 7:19am On Jul 15 |
Agbalowomeri:Well, I did not nention any names. But if you say so, I leave it to your conscience. Minimum wage now can only buy 1 bag of 50kg Rice. In some years past, minimum wage could buy almost 3-4 bags of 50kg Rice |
