I agree with you; Those selling are making good profits, of course.
My comment is to highlight the pros and cons for those who may be buying now to keep for the long term.
My target is above ₦100. I think FIRSTHOLDCO may be chasing after ZENITHBANK and GTCO. If it moves above Zenith, the real question will be: Can it sustain strong dividend payments, or is the buy side simply deep enough to keep pushing the price higher?

Disclosure: I bought a few months ago and still hold a position.

Dangote na sense man.

I only pity some Nigerians and Nigerian press that are still beholden to him.

They erroneously equate Dangote's interest to be the same as Nigeria's.

Anyone interested should read Feyi Fawehinmi's FOOD series exposé on how our favourite industrialists, with Govt's blind, ill judged & tacit support have impoverished the larger majority of the country.

A classic case is cement & sugar.

Guys, I want to understand something. I placed a limit order for a stock via my accessmore app, but when I clicked buy, I noticed the quoted price is much higher (10% higher).

I thought I made a mistake, cancelled the trade and tried again, yet it came out the same.
Now, the stock order hasn't filled because it didn’t get to the price although the stock has moved 9%

Does anyone know why that is?

I think it will hit N100; going above Zenith may be tough;
The release of Q2 results will influence a lot of things.
Failure to declare or match interim dividends from Zenith, GT could reverse FBN price gains.

It seems all the holders are playing the game of "Let's not sell because everyone else is holding," hence the full bid. That will continue until one or more Judas decide to start dumping. Then others follow and start selling too (perhaps at ₦100 or above). But if the buy side is strong enough to absorb the selling pressure, then maybe we could see prices reach Zenith's current level, or who knows GTCO. cheesy

When a beautiful, brilliant, intelligent, money conscious, investment-savvy babe curses and drags a bank stock, it is because the CEO is a cowboy!
She will soon come around. All that she needs is some fantastic dividends (ladies like money) and some capital appreciation. grin
I have discussed with AIG and Tony....they will sort you out soon!

If FBN fails to match ZB & GT interim dividends, the price would drop; at least for some time.

I exited Geregu with a 240% capital appreciation. My friend that entred earlier exited at 600% (if i remember correctly). Like most stocks, the clue is in knowing when to enter and when to exit. I'd rather have that than being trapped in Transpower, a company decalring huge profits, paying pittance as dividends while the stock price never appreciates.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by hopeful95: 11:28am On Jul 16
Pray, what is the source of this price o?

There is a regular bulletin on twitter by MEMAN about the sector, their data showed at some point within the last two weeks that Imported PMS was cheaper than DR's gantry price.

So, it'd be nice to know where/how you got the 2K per litre from.

I hope you're not restarting Edwin's talking point sha.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by hopeful95: 11:47am On Jul 16
'Okay' is not fair answer sha.

Someone might read your response and just fly with it even if it is wrong data. But because they trust your other posts, they'll assume this is also correct too.

Meman data is publicly available. DR have never faulted the facts in Meman's bulletin.

So I urge that you try to provide data or context.
