I think the hidden gem is in the inventory build up.
See q1 balance sheet and q2 balance sheet.

In their q1 forecast, volume is expected to decline which answers the revenue decline. Even at that they still add something to inventory build up.

We watch and see.. cool

One can hardly go wrong investing in countries with strong fundamentals. WAPCO has been doing well since I first bought it at ₦57+ sometimes in November 2024 before selling then @₦70+ only to get in recently with an average price of ₦282 and today the company declared an interim dividend of ₦16.
so you now invest in countries.

IPO watch in agro (cocoa) space?

We are pleased to inform you that the Johnvents Industries Limited (“Johnvents” or the “Issuer”) Series 25, 26 and 27 Commercial Paper Offer of up to ₦30 billion under its ₦100 billion Commercial Paper Issuance Programme (the “Offer”) is NOW OPEN and scheduled to close on Tuesday, 4 August 2026.

Johnvents Industries Limited is a fully Nigerian-owned agribusiness company engaged in the processing, manufacturing, export, and distribution of agricultural commodities and consumer products. As an established participant in Nigeria’s capital markets, Johnvents intends to utilize the proceeds of this issuance to support its working capital requirements, particularly the bulk purchase of cocoa inventory as the Light Crop Harvest season concludes and preparations for the Main Crop season commence.

Established in 2016, Johnvents began operations as a crop aggregation business and has since evolved into one of Nigeria’s leading integrated agro-industrial companies. The Company operates processing facilities in Ondo and Kano States, with flagship cocoa processing plants in Akure and Ile-Oluji boasting a combined installed capacity of 48,000 metric tonnes per annum. Its products are exported to Europe, South Africa, and Asia, while the Company also serves leading local FMCG manufacturers. Through the Johnvents Foods brand, the Company additionally offers a growing portfolio of consumer products.

In 2022, Johnvents reorganized its operations into six strategic business divisions to enhance efficiency across its value chain. The Company has also expanded its international footprint, establishing trading offices in the United Arab Emirates and Uganda, while entering the Senegalese and Gambian markets through its premium rice offerings. These initiatives have strengthened its global presence and increased foreign exchange earnings.

Further reinforcing its growth strategy, Johnvents is advancing its backward integration initiatives and expanding processing capacity with support from leading international development finance institutions, including the Dutch Fund for Climate and Development (€475,000), British International Investment (US$40.5 million), and the International Finance Corporation (US$23.3 million). These partnerships underscore the Company’s commitment to sustainable and inclusive growth.

Johnvents currently holds investment-grade national scale ratings of BBB+ from both Agusto & Co. and GCR Ratings, reflecting its strong liquidity profile, profitability, and operational performance.

The Company has demonstrated remarkable financial growth over the last five years. Between FY2021 and FY2025, revenue increased from ₦6.32 billion to ₦250.93 billion, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 158%. Profit after tax grew from ₦2.50 billion to ₦20.64 billion, while total assets expanded significantly from ₦12.77 billion to ₦403.52 billion. Total equity also increased from ₦10.33 billion to ₦154.21 billion, highlighting the Company’s strong capital base and financial resilience. Notably, exports account for over 70% of total turnover, providing a natural foreign exchange hedge and mitigating the impact of naira depreciation.

Analysis of Okomu Quarter 2 Financial results (A.I. assisted)

Based on Okomu Oil's Q2 2026 unaudited results and comparing them with Q2 2025 and Q1 2026, my assessment is that the company has delivered another strong set of results, although the pace of growth is beginning to normalize after the exceptional performance of 2025.

Here are the key takeaways:

1. Revenue remains very strong

Okomu continued to grow revenue from its palm oil and rubber businesses. Demand for palm oil remains robust, while the company continues to benefit from improved production efficiency and relatively firm selling prices. Revenue growth confirms that the business is still expanding rather than merely relying on price increases.

2. Profitability remains outstanding

The company continues to generate one of the highest profit margins on the NGX. Operating costs have remained under control despite inflationary pressures, allowing a large proportion of revenue to flow through to profit.

For investors, this is one of Okomu's biggest strengths: it is not just growing sales—it is converting those sales into earnings very efficiently.

3. Earnings per share (EPS) continues to rise

EPS remains at a very high level, indicating that shareholders are receiving increasing earnings for every share they own. This is encouraging because future dividends are ultimately paid from earnings.

4. Financial position remains healthy

Okomu continues to operate with a strong balance sheet and relatively low debt. This gives management flexibility to:

expand plantations,

invest in processing capacity,

withstand periods of lower commodity prices,

continue paying attractive dividends.

A strong balance sheet is one reason the market often assigns Okomu a premium valuation.

5. Dividend outlook

Although no interim dividend has been declared with the Q2 release, these earnings suggest the company is well positioned to maintain its reputation as a generous dividend payer if second-half performance remains solid.

6. Comparison with Presco

Okomu and Presco remain the two premier agricultural companies on the NGX.

My comparison would be:

Okomu: slightly stronger profitability and operational efficiency.

Presco: larger expansion pipeline and strong long-term growth potential.

Both remain among the highest-quality companies on the Nigerian Exchange.

7. What this means for the share price

The results support Okomu's current valuation. They do not necessarily guarantee a sharp price increase in the short term because the market has already recognized the company's quality. However, they strengthen the long-term investment case.

Unless there is a major decline in palm oil prices or a significant deterioration in Nigeria's operating environment, Okomu should remain one of the strongest agribusiness companies on the NGX.

My conclusion

I would rate these Q2 2026 results:

Revenue: ★★★★★

Profitability: ★★★★★

Financial strength: ★★★★★

Dividend potential: ★★★★★

Long-term investment quality: 9.5/10

Okomu Oil continues to demonstrate why it is regarded as one of the market's highest-quality compounders, even if its share price may not rise as explosively as some smaller companies in the short term.
