But, can we truly have steady power without totally liberalizing this sector?
Electricity is currently necessarily for survival..
And I am not talking Data, light to see, Electric cooker, Laptop for Work,etc..

I am talking PUMPING WATER to DRINK, WASH and CLEAN.

If there's no immediate shock absorber for the masses, it's going to be catastrophic for the cast majority of the population.

Dangote Refinery helped us wit shock absorber with subsidy removal..
But still look where that has gotten us?

Suffering the twin effect of paying huge cost for fuel to power personal generator just for basic usage as well as paying huge cost of electricity Bill or buying expensive infrastructure for power supply will be more detrimental to the hardship already.

My Point is electricity subsidy removal will increase Electricity tariff to exponential high or non-availability in some areas.
This may be more fatal than Fuel subsidy removal..
Or Nigerians bearing combination of the 2 subsidy removal won't be funny.

If fuel prices, transport cost, etc has come down to acceptable level, then we can go ahead with Power subsidy removal.

We should be mindful that he now has Solar in Villa.

President alongside his advisers should thread with caution with implications for the masses.

AVA Capital Plc listed today, Friday, July 31, 2026 at N7.50 has today gained 10% (75 kobo) to close at N8.25.

I only hope it will not go the way of Zichis. Let the shares and free float be made freely available for trading oo.

Its deferred tax liability. It took up to 75% of their profit! I think acquistion of ND Western has something to do with this. Good news is that if they could relicate this in Q3, it will be fantastic.

The revenue of ₦2.49 trillion is phenomenal and Cash position of ₦468bn means solidity.
@Mpeace forecasted on the significance of the Gas segment on the result.

If the federal government believed that the lamba will make steady electricity. Why did aso rock switch to solar.
We heared this same lamba in education, health etc.How available are they today. They have used same excuses to keep hiking prices. Why didn't we see the steady power as a result. They created different band and still talking balablu. How did they succeed in the metering they promised. They are already using estimated bills to kill Nigerians

For those still in Geregu and TransPower. There may be a glimmer of hope on the horizon. However, the impact of this on the common man undecided
The moment they install solar at the villa ,if you are not planning on how to generate your own power, you are on your own.

Cause for concern? All the TIP insiders except the founder have sold their holdings. Free float is a whopping 89%. No institutional holdings.

Like most opposition politicians, you have criticized without offering any solutions, or we just continue this way? While I am concerned about the potential impact on the masses, I know that cost-reflective tariff is the major driver of private sector involvement in the power generation and distribution chain. If the subsidy is removed, you would be shocked at the number of foreign and local businessmen ready to invest in the electricity value-chain. Dangote's proposed 20KMW plant will have many competitors.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by presiade(m):
Overall, my combined portfolios had a good run for July. At least, I recovered most of the paper losses I incurred in June. I don’t know what the constitution of your portfolio looks like, but most well-structured ones should have had fair to good performance in July.

August seems to have a significant chance of having a good performance as well, don’t forget Frontier Market approval is likely to come next month. If it’s sure that foreign investors will come in September after FM rating, nothing will stop the next full bull run starting in August!
Oasisblue:
Irrespective of results, though, the market remains poor. August may just go the way of June. sad

And what do we have in the result ? It would have been better he keeps dribbling everyone and post something reasonable. This result is a sham. Only a miracle will save this company from dropping to N18.

Those that declared beautiful results are finding it hard to appreciate. How much more Oando posting this !!!

What exactly should bargain hunters do this time around ? Because, I actually want out but not at a loss position. sad
Bear in mind that By and Large
WALE will used SOME of the FUNDS he SIPHONED via ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENDITURE to pump OANDO to circa #52.
