Though, unlike the Lagos refinery the East African one will have significant shareholding by the Kenyan, Tanzanian and Ugandan governments. Eventually the arrangement they agreed with DIL will come out. ayobama1: |

There are terrorists in Nigeria, have they attacked the Lagos refinery? For all I know the Lagos refinery was terrorized more by the government, the oil sector unions and the importers. There may be similar challenges in East Africa, but hopely to a lesser degree. mikeapollo: |

Raider76:I don't want to compare Kenya and Lagos in terms of terrorist attacks. But I know terror groups like Al-Shabbab have carried out deadly terror attacks in places like Mombasa and Nairobi in the past. I just pray nothing like such happens to the refinery. If you doubt, you may search in google and see. |

Hi guys, I need help! I subscribed to the recent TIP public offer, and can you believe I haven't received my allotted units since then? I have followed up with Apel Capital Registrars Limited with countless emails since then, and nothing yet. They always tell me they are looking into it! Any suggestions on what I can do, please? Is there somewhere I can report them? |

Send them a strongly worded email and copy sec@sec.gov.ng Also copy your own stockbrokers in the email. I repeat, make sure the email is strongly worded. Accuse them of being thieves who want to divert your shares. In the email, refer to SEC and beg SEC to investigate and fine them since it's been more than 6 months since the offer concluded and it's obvious they want to steal your shares. Ourown: |

JapaulGold Update JapaulGold is trading at ₦2.98, remaining under pressure despite the unusually large transactions seen two trading sessions ago. This suggests the market is still waiting for official confirmation before re-rating the stock. The heavy deals may have been ownership transfers or positioning ahead of corporate developments, but the price has yet to reflect a clear bullish trend. With the AGM scheduled for 21 August, many investors believe the company's next major announcements could explain the recent market activity. Bottom line: The volume has already arrived. Now the market is waiting for the catalyst. Watch whether JapaulGold can hold around ₦3.00 while we await the AGM and any official disclosures. |

Well, Kenya is a country while Lagos is a city. The comparison should be between Kenya and Nigeria as countries. We can then compare the number of terrorist related incidences and death. mikeapollo: |

yMcy56:A very low P/E ratio and trading below its book value per share. In my opinion, it should be trading at a price close to Fidelity Bank based on its good numbers. Market sentiments can even make it surpass Fidelity Bank current share price. Anyway, fingers crossed . |

Raider76:You may have a look at the atrocities committed by Al-Shabab in Kenya. And the geographical proximity of Kenya to terrorist-prone countries like Sudan, Somalia, and the Indian ocean etc. should give you better clarity on my concerns/fears. Below is AI response to my enquiry: Al-Shabaab views Kenya as a primary target due to Kenya's military involvement in Somalia. The group frequently conducts cross-border raids, ambushes, and improvised explosive device (IED) attacks, heavily concentrating its activities in Kenya's northeastern and coastal border regions like Mandera, Garissa, and Lamu counties |

Nigeria is also susceptible to terrorist groups from the Middle East and North Africa. Didn't the Americans kill an ISIS commander in Sambisa? Risks are everywhere and most international companies take this into account before they embark on a venture. mikeapollo: |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo: 11:56am On Aug 06 |
Raider76:If risks are everywhere, does that mean one should dismiss, ignore and never be concerned about such risks? A risk can only be dealt with when its existence is acknowledged and steps are taken to address it. I only prayed and wished that nothing untoward happens to the refinery I don't get your drift. Do you prefer nobody talks about such risks at all? |

| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by lionshare: 12:11pm On Aug 06 |
Raider76:How about this: the proposed refinery is expected to be located near Lamu in a region with a history of multiple terrorist attacks, while Dangote's refinery is in Ibeju-Lekki, which has virtually no history of insurgency—not even within a 100 km radius. |
