Otedola will surely buy these shares to consolidate this stake.

I believe we are not trying to choose between Lagos and Lamu. There is already a refinery in Lagos. The pount is Lagos is not any safer from terrorism. With advancement in drone technology no point on earth is safe. See how Ukraine is attacking Russian refineries, or how Iranian drones hit Israel? After these two wars do you think terrorists will not have access to such drones?

lionshare:
How about this: the proposed refinery is expected to be located near Lamu in a region with a history of multiple terrorist attacks, while Dangote's refinery is in Ibeju-Lekki, which has virtually no history of insurgency—not even within a 100 km radius.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 1:39pm On Aug 06
No I did not say we should ignore risks. I did say that international businesses consider such risks. I am sure in the case of the Kenyan refinery the risks were considered. You may recall that there was a contest for the refinery between Kenya and Tanzania. Eventually Dangote chose Kenya. Definitely such risks must have been part of the consideration. Just trying to ease your fears.

mikeapollo:
If risks are everywhere, does that mean one should dismiss, ignore and never be concerned about such risks?
A risk can only be dealt with when its existence is acknowledged and steps are taken to address it.
I only prayed and wished that nothing untoward happens to the refinery

I don't get your drift. Do you prefer nobody talks about such risks at all?

One area has a known history of terrorism, while the other does not. So far as your drone example goes, as long as the same drone can hit the White House, the tendency of that happening in either location is the same—but, I guess, even with the advancement in drone technology, none has yet hit Aso Rock, let alone the White House.

Thanks alot, I just sent them an email, fingers crossed

deathwing:
Send them a strongly worded email and copy sec@sec.gov.ng
Also copy your own stockbrokers in the email.

I repeat, make sure the email is strongly worded. Accuse them of being thieves who want to divert your shares. In the email, refer to SEC and beg SEC to investigate and fine them since it's been more than 6 months since the offer concluded and it's obvious they want to steal your shares.

They don't want to sell to Otedola..
Who knows, he may end up picking it.

The First Bank Oga said they're already getting "Overwhelming response" and pressures from buyers....

Lol.. Abeg, let the Bull come o. 😁
At least billionaire retailers like you can also have chance to influence the likes of Nestle, ARADEL and AIRTEL...

That SEPLAT is still way too high, but let's see how liquid it can become..

It's going to be a two way thing anyway.... sad

The 60% dividend payout policy is a game changer. Any bank that fails to meet up will struggle in NGX
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 4:25pm On Aug 06
Kind of thinking to exit any stock 1k and above and await the reaction.

But the value is still there....
I believed the market will still price the stocks fairly eventually

* Only that there may be some manipulations..... which was one of the reasons the old tiered price movement was cancelled to give way to all block 100k...
* They promised to guide against manipulations anyway.

* What if it turns out positive?
** Just reasoning it......You are free to follow your mind and what gives you peace of mind anyway

Oga Sir, so all of a sudden, the dividend that FBNH pays will become a yardstick or parameter for the industry?

Mba nu!

All these years that FBNH were paying Kulikuli and Akara money, nobody hold Dem for cloth. Besides, banks like GT and Zenith I believe always have their policy on ground concerning that. For oga Elumelu, I doubt if he can be stampeded even if FBNH spends their entire profit and borrow from World Bank to pay dividend.
