I think it's another person's view of the same story.

And who counted the people? How come they were round figure of 5000? Why not 4996 or 5003? This shows that that figure of 4000 or 5000 was an exaggeration. Yes people were plenty that were fed but nobody knows the actual number hence the 4000 and 5000 story.

The location is the first key. Mark 7:31 specifies that this miracle occurs in the region of the Decapolis — the group of ten largely Gentile cities on the eastern and southeastern side of the Sea of Galilee. Jesus has just healed a deaf and mute man whose friends brought him in an episode where Jesus uses physical gesture and saliva — healing methods more familiar in the Gentile world than in Jewish practice. The crowd that has been with him for three days eating nothing is a Gentile crowd.

The numbers are the second key. Seven in Jewish numerology was the number of completion for the nations — God rested on the seventh day, bringing creation to its full completion. Seven loaves, seven baskets — the language of completeness for a people who are not Israel but are equally fed by the same hands.

Jesus did not perform the same miracle twice by accident or because the tradition confused two memories of one event. He performed it once in Jewish territory and once in Gentile territory, with numbers that said, to anyone who was listening carefully, that what he had done for Israel he was also doing for the nations.

The same bread. The same miracle. Different numbers that meant everything.

All religions have their own , okay in Yoruba mythology the world was created by a diety using chains to descend from heaven carrying a cock and snail shell 🐚 filled with sand , the sand was poured from the shell to the water that fills the earth then and the cock was spreading it like they used to spread sand when searching for food . And they yorubas and traditionals believe it .. each religion to its own. Even in Islam, I read about a creature that holy ones rode on , with the face of a human body of horse and with wings . My take is that every religion has their own kind of miracles or weird stuffs but religion is not science it’s spirituality , it’s not supposed to be logical , it’s supernatural things beyond human comprehension. The difference in the number is simply another person's account of the same event but trust this people, they run to town without thinking deeply about it.

For instance, some account says Jesus carried the Cross all by himself while another says, someone was mandate to carry it at a point.
