Another reason is that some guys do not trust the banks, and keep their money at home.

My maternal grandmother died in the year 2000. When her children went to examine her properties after she died, they found a strongbox , inside which they found 200,000 naira in the box.

Now the woman i believe had a bank account, but she had been so used to keeping money at home, and not in the bank that she kept a large chunk of money at home.

The amazing thing is that it was still intact. (Then again she kept it in a metal box. NO way rat or other vermin would get in there.
