OANDO's time is also coming...

I'm having some opinion that maybe Wale intends selling the remaining stakes meant for distribution to a strategic investor, that s could be the reason we haven't heard about 2026 phase distribution of shares.

* I think this will be a welcomed development considering the fact that it could help reduce the debt burden.
* I don't expect shareholders to object to this, in as much as this will help shape the company the more.

** If this should be the case, then we should expect significant jump in OANDO's price...
It's even necessary because it's been down for so long..
You may be right about trying to sell the remaining shares to a strategic investor being the reason for not hearing anything about 2026 distribution.
But after selling, who should receive the money? Because the AGM and SEC had authorized that the shares be distributed to shareholders so the company cannot keep what belongs to individual shareholders without their consent. And there could be no ''strategic investors'' apart from Wale himself and his gang.
Shareholders need their shares or cash. They had given enough cash to the company in the past.
Afterall, the directors can always issue new shares to any true strategic investor, as already approved at AGM.

It may also be that they want to complete the RI so those who buy can benefit from the share redistribution i.e. if there is dilution.

Sometimes, shareholders can decide to forfeit such shares for sustainability of the company.
We've seen situations where shareholders forfeited dividends and agreed that the company should use it to improve the company.
If shareholders agree during AGM, SEC will ratify it....... shareholders have higher say than SEC in this kind of decision making.

Remember it was just my opinion.....because till now, we haven't heard about the phased distribution.
I may be very wrong as well.

I know it's an opinion. I am only addressing the feasibility and fairness of such.
New shares can always be created and issued to genuine strategic investors. The shareholders had already given the directors the mandate to do that.

Just mention it if you want to assist guys here.
People would always say something, positive or negative, but at least your conscience would bear witness that you did your best.
Remember, no one knows it all. Your ''north'' today may be someone's ''south'' and vice versa
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by KarlTom: 2:59pm On Aug 31
IF the bolded happens, the funds will be distributed to shareholders NOT the company. So the second bolded is incorrect

Except a motion to that effect is moved at the AGM

You position is exactly the view I hold.
But, if you read the resolutions very carefully, they inserted the phrase ''.... as the directors may decide from time to time....'', which could change the contextual meaning and legal implications.
Like @megwaealth01 always says. ''Wale is a lawyer''

If I remember very well, I think the resolution has a clause stating "part or all", those things lawyers do.... but I'm not sure if I'm correct.

But you are still busy ''forming'' and falling our hand.
''Kwantinue''. The ''sharks'' and ''crocodiles'' are still in the water. .

Based on its current financials, the estimated fair value for VFD Group Plc (NGX: VFDGROUP) sits between ₦12.50 NGN and ₦14.20 NGN, presenting a mild-to-moderate upside from its current market price of ₦11.30 NGN..... He's running into troubled waters. But it's his money....
