Thanks a lot bro! I don't really consider views. I mostly reduce the price when I want some actions. I usually keep myself engaged (domain-wise) by buying names and building my portfolio, but when I'm not buying domains (e.g. spent whatever budget I have), I get bored, so I just reduce prices on some of the names. That way, I can get busy buying names again if anyone sells.

On this particular name, tbh, I wasn't keeping an eye on it until the offer came in. It's not in my top 50 most viewed domains, but during the offer/negotiations stage, the views increased a lot.
Many thanks for sharing your insight. May more sales come our way.

Another Bangerrrrrr!!! PS: I typed this sale report a few days before the actual sale happened because I was so confident it was gonna happen grin

In my last sale report, I mentioned that I get sales whenever I reduce the prices on my domains. Well, that's still the case here. This domain is also one of those domains that I slashed the price on. It was initially listed for a high XXXX, but I reduced it to $4999. About one week ago, the buyer reached out via an Afternic Broker with a $3750 offer. Well, before responding, I started digging deep to find out who the buyer is, so I was able to narrow my guess down to 2 possible buyers (I'm very convinced I know the exact buyer sha cheesy)... One of them is a new company, and I noticed they are presently spending some money; they recently acquired a new office in downtown Vancouver (One of the most expensive cities in North America - Not cheap!). They are also hiring new employees (Some of their job listings are over $100k/yr), so I figured they are not small inside this world cheesy. The other potential buyer also looks capable; both of them are on the other registered TLDs.

After gathering enough information, I countered their offer with $ 4,750, but set the floor at $ 4,500. They didn't even stress me too much; they just accepted the $4500 straight up. Funny enough, if the domain was still priced at high XXXX, I have a feeling they would still buy it, but the price reduction just made the purchase happen sooner. Well, there you have it, my biggest sale so far in this game. My first sale only happened in March, and it's the 4th one already, all for XXXX.... I'm thrilled and grateful! At the moment, the goal is to have a minimum of one sale every month, and I'm actively working towards that. On to the next one!!!

Thanks a lot! I totally agree with that price part but not the first part. I'm still a junior domainer, while GPexchange is a senior domainer. BTW, we haven't seen his sales report this year; hope to hear from him soon. No doubt his reports motivate me a lot.

How long does it take for someone to receive payment of a sold domain which has been fully transferred out from sedo please.

I used my grey account and it is getting to 4 days and I am yet to see any money in my grey dollar account

I bought this domain name on the 18th of last month (August) and on that same day I message the potential buyer.

A week later, I got a promising response. Their challenge was the price as the buyer is just 19years old so he pleaded for a price reduction on the grounds that they're running a Charity organization and all their social media platforms, they don't collect money to run ads/promo.

At that point, I developed a soft spot and quickly dropped the price by 50%.

He we became friends on Facebook, Instagram and even on Tiktok.

So yesterday evening, as I was about shutting down my PC and closing from my place of work, I got this message (see attachment). They followed up with a Whatsapp call 🤙.

That's a strong commitment.

Let's see how it goes. $750 in the waiting and a solid friendship made with the American teenager.

Even my colleague that invested N2m into shares is looking at me like a bandit every time I flip my little $10 into hundreds of dollars.

After the deal goes through, I'll share my own secret of acquiring brand names.

Meanwhile which domain sales platform accepts $40 price listing? One stubborn customer says he wants to acquire the domain name and redirect it to his social media.

Congrats on your banger sale, chief. Me sef tap into it. cool

Regarding the bold, I have noticed this repeatedly as well. Made me wonder whether Afternic hoards the views information. For example, I noticed in the offer section after receiving an offer that the domain had 175 views while the portfolio view count was 7. And I don't think that was the all-time views because I usually track monthly views above certain threshold.

By the way, I also get bored when I'm not researching domains but I have to restrain myself. Renewals are top of mind. cool

Thanks a lot! I don't think they are hoarding the views though; it just takes some time for the views to update and sync across their platform, especially if/when you do a recent DNS change.

Lol, yeah, renewals are very important; many buyers are hoping you won't renew so they can get the names for reg fee. The moment you renew, they go into "should we just buy it like that or wait again till next year" mode. grin

your registrar should tell you when your names will expire or you can use who[dot]is. i don't think they check in bulk though, you can ask Google

They cannot really "buy it like that" o because I usually hike prices once I renew. cheesy

I got the offer for the domain I referenced previously in the morning of the very day I had planned to extend the registration further and hike the price. I waited for some days to see if the lead would up their offer to just under 2/3 of my old asking price, but they delayed. Up the price went! cool

Kindly, recheck WHOis and edit the name out of your comment. It's my name. I'm experiencing alow ball offer on another domain due to that.

The company you mentioned have no funding or even an existing LinkedIn page and it could easily be a random person testing his/her skill.

I bought it because the name is a nice drop reg regardless of the enduser.

I have removed the name out of my comment, you should do the same on my quoted comment.

Well, I don't think it's just a random person testing (if we're talking about the same domain), this is exactly how new companies and new ideas spring up. Their present TLD was secured less than a month ago, which means it's a company/idea in progress. I can assure you they'd have gotten the .com instead if it was available then. Also, they have a waitlist (typical of new, fresh companies), there is a countdown to their potential launch date, etc. There are just too many signs that you'd eventually sell the domain if you hold on to it. But if you think otherwise, I agree too!

We're here to LEARN. So, let disagree to learn.

I have far better names I've even OUTBOUNDED which didn't sell. To me, the approach of picking a name for an enduser is not the best even though I do it a lot too.

Generally, the best names are those with existing end-users and a nice concept behind it (knowledge-backed).

With respect to the domain in question, they'll acquire it if it was free is different from having to pay thousand(s) for it, There must a strong motivation to do that and I don't see that in the website and you've not really stated why you think it'll sell. Anyone can put up a wait-list on a website.

I regged the domain with wix(4) and I won't pay $9.50 with gname to reg it.

Generally, from what I've seen, most domainers will tell you their top names aren't usually the ones that sell first; I can relate to that as well, so the fact that you outbounded your better names and didn't sell doesn't mean other names that don't look as good as those better names won't sell.

So, this is how it works for me: while combing through the drop list (thousands of domains), you can't be clicking on every name on the list (something has to draw you closer to check the name at first), so you skim through the names. When you see one that meets your criteria (whatever it is), you click on it and dig deeper. For me, firstly, it's almost a wordplay on an English word used in tech, meaning "to make something more efficient". Secondly, I've seen similar domains sold several times. Lastly, something is being built around this name; it's not a blog, it's not a personal journal, it's a potential AI agent startup.

Now, this is the main reason why I said if you think otherwise, I agree too! -> I know we all have different strategies and reasons for picking names. For me, I'm interested in increasing my portfolio to a huge number without compromising on quality (a thousand at the very least), and I never do outbound, so that name isn't the best name I've ever come across, but it passes the minimum criteria well enough to get into my portfolio since I have a huge target to meet. For you, maybe it doesn't, because you need direct, outboundable and email-ready multiple end-users. Since the name seems to have only one end user that you can't reach out to, it's not a very good name to you.

I remember during GP's last report, he mentioned a name axsis/com that he sold for over 5k, and he specifically stated that "most people on this thread wouldn't have looked at this name twice, let alone buy it and list it for 5k". I did a quick check on that name back then; it didn't have multiple potential end users. Now that it's sold, the name suddenly looks appealing to everyone, but trust me, it wouldn't have been appealing to most people before it sold.

Long story short, domains are unpredictable, like you initially mentioned, so it may not sell, and it may also sell, but if it were in my hands, I'd hold on to it, and I believe it has a good chance of selling. BTW, since you wouldn't have bought it if not for Wix's lower price, I am interested in taking it off of you for more than GName's price; that's a 60% profit.

Watch him say NO to my offer! Why? Because he also kinda believes in the name. grin

NICE. Let get each other, clearly.

I never wrote that the name was BAD. In fact, I wrote that

"I bought it because the name is a NICE drop reg REGARDLESS of the ENDUSER".

What I'm kinda against is the statement "it will sell to that particular enduser". I don't think there's any certainty to that.

I point out LinkedIn because almost every serious tech company is on it, this company have no SM presence.

I pointed out funding because it increases purchasing power, this particular company does not have it.

To me, those two things shows a company will value a domain name and have the pocket to purchase it.

__________

Smiles, if you're sure it'll sell, you can as well bring $100 and I'll give it to you quick quick.

Yeah, I agree. Maybe I wasn't clear enough earlier; my emphasis was on eventually selling the name, not banking on selling it to that particular end user (I just mentioned that end user since they are launching next month, and I used "likely" because it's not guaranteed).

Even names that have 5 potential end users don't automatically guarantee being sold to any of those end users. Also, it takes some buyers 1 month, 1 year, or even 10years to go for their preferred domain; no one knows for sure. $100 for a name you said you wouldn't have registered for $9.5 yourself? Lol, It's okay. I'll take that as a NO to my offer; we move! grin

Another easier way to get end users, decision makers emails using chat bot. I still prefer Grok. At the search box, type Eg ; "I own the Domain ImpactWindowsDirect.com and looking to sell it. Help me get potential end users for it and their email address" results will be out. Reach out to them.
