Really? You won't understand my Oando games
On a more serious note, I am fully in Oando with you, if you would stay,
But if the price rises, I may sell some units to buy refinery IPO. I already planned for some funds but I want to buy more.
Dangote refinery at 1.4m capacity is not something I want to miss.
Definitely a 100% gain by 2028, latest.

Again, if they collect 70%, it only reduces the profit portion of FG's income from NNPCL, It doesn't at all reduce the taxes and Royalties, if anything it will likely increase those cos the entity will have significantly bigger operations.

Then out of the 70%, the government still gets 10% minimum as taxes when those billionaires take the profit.

Ultimately, the issue with Schools, hospitals and roads won't be availability of funds but largely efficient utilization of funds.

And this is not just theory, cos you and I know that US which is the largest producer of crude and produces over 12 times what we produce has no NNPCL equivalent, but their schools and hospitals aren't on the same level as Nigeria's.

This is not to mention that in reality, elumelu and otedola can't raise the liquidity to by 30% of NNPCL talk less of 70%.

Where do you think the 10 richest Nigerians outside Alhaji and RABIU would get $50bn combined?

What is there's no Yari to buy another overpriced Otedola's stake, isn't his asset mostly just paper valuation?

Fbn isn't really worth 5x accesscorp na.
Even when the govt alone is collecting 100% of all these revenues, taxes, royalties etc, the roads, hospitals, schools etc are bad.
Now you want to give part of the funds to other ''shareholders''

Govt is busy borrowing because of ''inadequate funds'', but here you are, saying the issue is ''efficient utilization of funds''!
We like speaking grammar with terminologies in this country, just to twist narratives and support our position!

It has come to my observation that there's a pattern of cynicism among some well established members of this platform to all posts, without contributing alternative solutions or way out. I won't call names....
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by millo: 6:45pm On Sep 11
It's only being sold at 14% above private placement price which is not a wide margin at all. Also, those who bought PP cannot sell for a year.
megawealth01:
3 reasons why I'm not buying Dangote refinery IPO.

1. Money does not make noise.
2. Wealth does not invite you to 'join us.'
3. The people who will make money in the short term are those who bought private placement. This is not financial advice

Okay ooo. Imagine NNPC getting listed and HNI like Otedola, Elumelu, etc buys like 50%-70%+ of the shares. And they collect billions of naira as dividends every year with most roads, schools, hospitals in Nigeria still bad!
If NNPC is sold the JV share of Nigeria isn't sold with it. It will only be the upstream assets that are sold and they will just be managing the oil wells for maybe a small percentage of production volume and the government will face other things fully. They will publish their accounts for everybody to peruse and millions of investors will buy shares. It can't make more than 3 billion dollars a year from all operations and it will be able to take contracts abroad

People who post and say "this is not financial advise" are doing more harm than they probably intended. Why not just keep it to yourself.

Your opinion is that borrowing more money is proof that they're utilizing their revenue efficiently??

You seem to like making statements that contradict yourself.

It's not hard to see that if the funds they currently get were efficiently utilized, they won't need to borrow at least not as much, why you think otherwise is strange.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76:
I think it will be too soon if my grandson sees NNPCL listed in the NGX.

mikeapollo:
NNPC will not list the major upstream business because that is where profit on sale of crude is used to finance the national budget.
Only the downstream business (retail filling stations) can be listed and that is nowhere near $70b or Dangote.

No National Oil company (NOC) would list its major upstream business on a stock exchange and distribute its earnings to shareholders (who may be billionaires already) instead of using the funds to finance the budget and develop the nation. It wont happen!

The honest truth is that every analysis and perspective on this IPO is welcome. Everyone should carefully consider the available information, make an informed decision, and be prepared to take responsibility for the decision they ultimately make.

Someone receives N100 and he is unable to fix roads, schools, hospitals etc.
Now, the same person is expected to receive N70 and give N30 to others (called shareholders). Do you now expect him to be able to take care of the same (or even more) roads, schools, hospitals etc with N70?

Wish you good luck!

Sunrisepebble is for the refinery as PP participant. Though he got in at discount
Emmanuelewumi does not do IPO because it is usually at premium

It is called a ''perspective'' and we all share our perspectives hete on different topics.
It pisses you off because you are probably experienced in the game.
Such caution is useful because there are newbies who may just take it as sure advise or recommendation and invest their funds. What happens if things go bad later?
