Tinubu was without a verifiable job or source of income before politics? Ha. That's laughable.
My point is that this was the same approach y'all deployed in the run up to the 2023 elections to stick all sorts of dirts on his persona and it failed. How do you think it will work this time? Y'all will cry again as it was after the elections in 2023.

deathwing:
See how you are passionate about a mere candidate whose life is an open book, but not about a sitting president with no verifiable job or source of income before politics. Nice one.

Mike why are you not addressing Mega instead?
Are you his mouthpiece?

I think minding your business is also a good business.

Just stand before the mirror, and have a look: if you lived by that advice above, there would be no issues at all..

I bet on the N10 dividend grin
That will be less than the cost price for many that packed the shares boldly when the going private brouhaha was on.
A 5% target dividend yield is not bad. Aradel & Seplat dividend yield are 2% and 3% respectively.

On OANDO, I have decided to leave the units I currently have to ride the wave of whatever the management does. I am not going to waste any energy trying to average down anything. If it decides to rally anytime in the future, we would be there.

BabsO2:
That is sometime in 2028 the following dividend will likely be paid
N2.5 If share price is N50
N5 if the share price is N100
N10 if the share price is N200
grin
This could be dangerous and a way to manipulate the share price, if care is not taken.
Dividend payout ratio should be distinct from dividend yield because share price should not be determined by the company.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by megawealth01: 12:04pm On Sep 17
On this arranged AGM...

ITS A HUGE SHAME that nothing reasonable came out. Hopefully the MM will help us pump the thing at least to help PETERICHY bailout his JIJO funds grin

As seen on the internet

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 12:08pm On Sep 17
Totally agree with you. Mentioning dividend yield against share price instead of a dividend ratio based on earnings is somehow reckless and probably not intentioned.

Wale just clarified it's as percentage of share price of the day.
What if they suppress the stock price to N20 next year in order to pay a dividend of N1 which is 5% dividend yield.

He should tell you guys that the stock price will be between N90 and N100 in September 2027 and we will pay a dividend of between N4.50k and N5.00 which is about 5% dividend yield
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by megawealth01: 12:09pm On Sep 17

They are able to go unchallenged on this because the meeting is online.
Ae they telling us that their profit performance would depend on the price of the share at year end?
What is meaning of Dividend Yield of 5%? It does not make sense.

If I heard well.....
The negative shareholders' fund is expected to be cleared by 1st quarter of 2027...
This was expected to be done in 2 tranches....
1st one by last quarter 2026
2nd by 1st quarter 2027....

* Significant reduction from N531bn in 2024 to N62bn in 2025

* Application also submitted to SEC for fund raising....

* At least, contrary to what some people are saying about taking OANDO private, it has been faulted.....

** One day one day, na lie go become na true...

In a sane nation you see WALE, JEGEDE and few CEO should not be in charge of coy for more than 10 years...

I love OTEDOLA for one thing he is FEARLESS (It takes a FEARLESS man to take FBN from Oba Otudeko). Even in the heat he still made FO meeting PHYSICAL. I have said it here that if I want to buy DANGOTE REFINERY, it would be because of FEMI OTEDOLA CON

Don't bet on such price manipulation just to pay a lower dividend. Come the time they will pay dividend my bet is a comfortable share price of N200 and above considering the way SEPLAT, ARADEL and Dangote Refinery is bullishly priced.

Perhaps they'll switch to stating a % of EPS going forward. Which way my bet is N10 dividend will be the next dividend.

I can grant them the benefit of the doubt that it was probably an error.
But a N10 dividend would mean a price of N200. What could make the price jump to N200? That is the koko
Seplat, Arade etc are declaring good profits
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 12:20pm On Sep 17
Ahahah Bro Mike, I don't do name calling o except for that street thu::g grin grin.

On a more serious note, I think the biggest mistake from OANDO's management through this period is announcing the price for a right issue when you know you are not ready for the issue yet. The stock price was gearing up for appreciation in response to the global energy crisis, only for them to peg the price at 50.

You're truthful with your submissions.

How can a company deliberately pin down share price from appreciating simply because they don't want to pay higher dividends?
Remember these people even have more that 2/3 of the shares, so can they afford to be shooting themselves on the leg as well?

I think the share price will rather go up for convenience of paying higher dividends.....just like Jim Ovia knows how much he pockets every year (na example I give o).

No;
About paying 5% dividend yield with price at N200, making N10 dividend per share

Okay, time will tell.

Majority of Oando's shareholders are just foolishly optimistic sha, even after they have been disappointed by Wale again and again.

How can Oando pay a dividend of N10 per considering the precarious condition of their debts and the ability to pay
