Entrepreneurship is not easy. The type that ventures into what Wale has done. Not all the buying and sell entrepreneurship that many do to rip off buyers. Wale has created real business. For that I respect him. Nigeria needs more real entrepreneurs. Nah Tony I am praying he surprises us with dividend alert before the end of this month. grin

megawealth01:
But DEEP down in your heart, do you think Wale is HONEST?

You're truthful with your submissions.

How can a company deliberately pin down share price from appreciating simply because they don't want to pay higher dividends?
Remember these people even have more that 2/3 of the shares, so can they afford to be shooting themselves on the leg as well?

I think the share price will rather go up for convenience of paying higher dividends.....just like Jim Ovia knows how much he pockets every year (na example I give o).
Oando's core investors make far more money running the business than whatever dividend the company can pay them

Tony is story for another day. I just hope he will continue paying fat dividends for which SEPLAT is known for sha

They know, but they are hopeful and praying that God will touch his heart this time around.

I learnt some shareholders went to the mountains to pray and fast because of his matter

It's UBA dividend of at least N1.25 (or better N1.5) that I am betting Tony will pay shareholders promtly before this month runs out grin. The speed with which his companies paid interim dividends is the signal my bet is based on shocked

Okay, time will tell.

Majority of Oando's shareholders are just foolishly optimistic sha, even after they have been disappointed by Wale again and again.

How can Oando pay a dividend of N10 per considering the precarious condition of their debts and the ability to pay
It is unnecessary to use derogatory words on people.
Different scenarios of dividend per share were also mentioned e.g. N1, N2.50, N5 etc.

Seplat has huge debts, it still pays dividends.

What matters is to service the debts adequately as required by creditors and have positive retained earnings, enough cash to pay dividends, IF any.

Don't bet on such price manipulation just to pay a lower dividend. Come the time they will pay dividend my bet is a comfortable share price of N200 and above considering the way SEPLAT, ARADEL and Dangote Refinery is bullishly priced.

Perhaps they'll switch to stating a % of EPS going forward. Which way my bet is N10 dividend will be the next dividend.
What we should hold them to is the Dividend Payout ratio.
If the share price is going too high, and there is not enough profits or cash to pay high dividend, the share price could be brought down (manipulated) to enable them pay the 5% yield.

I don't think 5% is a policy statement. But a guidance based on real market price that is not hyped but reflective of reasonable value. For now in their mind a reasonable market price is N50 (the rights price) which translates to a N2.5 dividend . I believe it's such thinking. Not a policy.

''Mummy wa''.
I hope the ''Daddy wa'' is doing fine and not causing much stress.

Wale, the ''trouble maker'' has been driven back to his office now. There should be peace now.

Sometimes, ''mummy wa'' also likes to stress ''Daddy wa''

Okay oo. Time will tell.
If they deliver good results with positive retained earnings at end of FY2026, then fine.

You are beginning to sound funny with this your oando matter.
You don't have to make fun of Christian even when you know it is a lie.
Let wait for oando full yr results. Your call for nahco after alll did not deliver when it got to #200
Thr is one single fact oando is making progress in addressing issues. It may be very sluggish but they are not moving backwards

Looks like I am stuck at Berger Paints, just like some people at Geregu and TransPower. Unable to offload, even at -10% of the opening price. Knowing when to get off the horse is a 3-credit unit course o n the NGX. grin

Today's AGM looks and sounds promising....
It addressed the debt issues well.

Concerning the share distribution, I think it was emphasized that it's Treasury Shares.......
Would be good if it's converted to dividends instead.

I missed most part of the AGM.

How do they mean ''treasury shares'?
The plan/resolution as approved at AGM was to distribute them to shareholders. Has that changed?

Are suggesting UBA will pay N1.25k - N1.50k for interm dividend.

After which there will be no final dividend. 🤣🤣🤣

They paid 0.25k interm dividend last year and nothing final dividend.
