SonofElElyonRet:Caverton and Cileasin are in the same league as Oando and Japaul. Unending stories for the gods ![]() |

lawani:Where did you get this ''theory'' or ''logic'' from. Shareholders are meant to share in profits, when the company makes profit at end of the financial year. Workers are to work daily, weekly, monthly so the company can operate and make profits. Do you want or expect the workers to work without receiving salaries until end of the year when the company declares profit? I tire for this oo |

mikeapollo:Can you set up a private company and pay workers without paying shareholders? No no matter how small you will pay the share holders. Therefore for as long as the rule is not applied to public companies then the stock exchange isn't yet optimal at least not as much as private companies |

People change for a number of reasons. I think he invested a lot in Oando. I recall someone wishing Wale to kpai. That is how angry Oando shareholders can be. It takes a lot of maturity to be calm at times like this. yMcy56: |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo: 2:18pm On Oct 08 |
lawani:If we are all willing to learn, we can educate ourselves:. Most private companies don't pay ANYTHING as dividend, because they are mostly owned by a few individuals (usually less than 10) or 2, 3 or 4 family members or friends. What their directors/shareholders usually do is to make drawings for some expenses. The pressure to pay dividends is only loud in public companies because the shareholders are many and they make noise about it. |

faoogoke:Lol. That's no justification for derailing the thread. OANDO investors plenty for this thread, only that they don't talk or post. Don't be surprised that Oga Emma may have OANDO, forget all those bashins, the day OANDO will do 200 or there's positive turnaround we will eventually know the truth 😁 |

| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by lawani(m): 2:26pm On Oct 08 |
mikeapollo:Yes but my point is that the right way in my opinion to run a public company is to set dividends apart each time you pay salaries. It does not have to be much but set something apart. It is not law yet but to me it is the right way forward |

elengine:I would be really surprised if Zenith does not pay any dividends! It would be a shocker in the industry because they had been very consistent in paying both interim and final dividends |

Let's hope so. The fs should drop at the end of today or COB tomorrow mikeapollo: |

mikeapollo:Why is Wale among top 4 highest paid CEO in Nigeria? This year AGM, the first speaker critized their bogus salaries, yet the shareholders were left with nothing. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by yMcy56: 3:29pm On Oct 08 |
Stockpromoter:Lol. I don't know which aspect you're asking but as far as Mcy is concerned, Loco is cool......but seems people prefer the old Loco 😜 |

thebargainhunte:''Workers'' or ''employees'' in a public company are separate from ''executive management''. What we are discussing is salaries to workers |

🔥 TWO BATTERED STOCKS — TWO DIFFERENT CATALYSTS MULTITREX — ₦0.42 After almost 8 years of suspension, NGX lifted the suspension on October 7 following the company’s submission of its outstanding financial statements. Trading has now resumed. Its private placement was done at ₦1.89. The story now is recovery + renewed trading interest + business turnaround. GUINEA INSURANCE — ₦0.85 Guinea has just completed another major recapitalisation step, with 6.307bn private-placement shares listed at ₦1.45. 🚀 Next catalyst: Q3 results. mikeapollo:So you didn't even understand the point I was making? I wasn't discussing salaries of workers. Maybe you should go through my posts again. I said any company that can pay workers can also pay dividends. There is no excuse not to pay dividends when you are able to pay workers |
