The report is different from what dangote said in the video. he specifically said 50,000 shares.

see video below

The way Dangote is going about this IPO is something else.

He speaks about it locally and internationally—to individuals, forums, roadshows, groups, governments, in Nigeria and abroad. I heard that is how he works on anything anyway. Crazy work ethic.

When he has an unprecedented success again, some people will then start saying it was because he has connections, or because he was given preferential treatment.

Nothing wrong in him saying foreigners with no valid papers shouldn't be allowed in.. throw open your borders to all and sundry and the country will suffer greatly..

We are in Egypt y'all

Aliko Dangote is pushing the expansion of capital markets as Africa’s richest man readies to offer global depository receipts in Egypt.

Executives from Dangote Industries Ltd. are participating in a strategic investment-engagement session hosted by the Egyptian Exchange, Rehab Sallam, head of international relations at the bourse, said on Thursday.

If N50, 000 is guaranteed, no need to apply.
It's 50000 units Not ₦50,000.

It's been clarified.

It will be difficult for Regency to cross #1 but easier for Guinea to do #2+.It will be easier for Iei to do #3+ while Regency crawl slowly.

You know why?
No

Bought regency at 85k so I think I can bail out in time if I want

Sure it's not a slip of tongue and he meant to say N50,000? We are still on the one for every 10 bonus issue which he said.
Moreover he said "smaller people" are the 50,000 shares people which seems odd. N26m isn't small at all

Put your money in mutual funds, or if you're doing longterm and want to see actual appreciation over that time, put it in an equity find.

You must be a seasoned economist or banking and Finance graduate. I don't understand all the statistics you outlined if not for your conclusive statement, I would have been so confused 😀🙏. Pls I am thinking to open a standard regular in Stanbic and to a open their fixed deposit account with them, based on your statistical records, do you advise one open a fixed deposit with Opay? How do you see Moniepoint and Piggyvest? Again, I am thinking of funds safety. I plan to maximize 4M through a solid financial investment instrument . Thanks

I will never touch any business owned by this racist islamophobe neonazi by a long pole. I wonder why black people and/or people of the Muslim faith continue to invest in and enrich a guy who routinely incites hatred against them and advances the cause of white supremacy.
The bitter truth is that he and his businesses has a net-value addition to society- humanity, survival, basic comfort, discoveries, Luxury and even solutions to previously hopeless health-situations despite his utterances at times.

I don't know you as a person, but if you offer or sell a value that adds value to my life and future generations.
Irrespective of our differences, at some point I will have to swallow that aspect of pride and patronize my destiny helper grin

even If I don't, my future generations might give-in out of desperation and necessity for lack of conservative alternative.
So?

We are all HUMANS first-of-all before race, tribe, culture, religion. Majority of humans will naturally gravitate towards who and what provides these additions values to them for their human and genetic survival first.

That's why I love China, they are at the forefront of preserving their values and opinions while advancing with technology that inculturizes their Chinese values, perspective, tribe and beliefs.

I think Germans and Japan too were a bit conservative country in the 1800 and 1900s but they also advanced in their own way with the rest of the world while preserving their identity, beliefs and opinions.

True sha.. 26m no small.

But
1)where both foreigners, USA, UK, Africans,Diaspora-Nigerians as well as HNI Nigerians are involved, the average units per shareholders fit exceed 50,000units.
2)Especially considering our exchange rate.
3)To Dangote and his calliber of circle, you have to excuse him for calling "26m worth of shares" "chicken change" grin

Exactly!
China practices Communism, and discourages the practice of Christianity and Islam.
But we all patronize their products because they are very useful and serve our critical needs!

There are so many investors, inventors, and entrepreneurs doing their thing without exporting hate.

I am glad you mentioned China. I have yet to see Jack Ma, the CEO of BYD, and other Chinese oligarchs spreading discrimination or hate or giving Nazi salutes. Musk is the world's wealthiest man, and I dont think the few thousand USD I refuse to invest in his companies will impact him in any way, but at least I have peace of mind for not contributing to his agenda or funding his lifestyle. When I read his anti-Black, anti-Muslim, or anti- Asian people posts on X, my annoyance is tempered.

OK. I get your drift now..
Yes. There are so many investments to choose from all over the world whos CEOs are more welcoming and inclusive in their opinions and mind their business and products. It doesn't have to be Musk.

However, I suppose:

1) some of Musk investors
(career-wise amongst others) are more attracted/passionate to his research interests, challenging and technical inventions, closer-to-humanity solutions, and unique prototypes associated with his business products, as well as milestone achievement and break-through successes.

It also gives them a sense of contributing to their own life fulfilment.

2)Some others might also be product beneficiaries abs users like Starlink,etc.. Hence investing in them.
The mantra:
"Invest in what you consume"

So don't underestimate why people will still be interested despite differences of opinions on a personal level.

For others who are probably less connected to his products/ less passionate, it's understandable that his utterances might weigh heavier on their investment decisions.

I respect that choice. For me, I separate the products from the person.

We will use Tesla cars, Starlink mobile, X platform, and watch SpaceX take people to the International Space Station and the Moon. We will pay attention to Neuralink's brain-computer interfaces and The Boring Company's underground tunnels. We will even buy their shares if the fundamentals are right. And if we have a chance, we will tell Elon we disagree with some of his views.

That's how I approach it. Simple.

BTW, those products are not one man's work. Hundreds of thousands of professionals from all walks of life—every race, religion, and nationality—make them happen. Add the investors, bankers, and financiers who fund the vision. They are all part of the story.

I hear you our dear prophet and the PE ratio for ETI PLC looks ridiculously cheap but that bank has refused to grow its loan book in a manner that will bolster its potential despite its capacity especially within the Nigerian environment. They are fond of keeping cash to improve their capital instead of paying out good dividends to shareholders.

The comparative advantage angle of being a foreign exchange player has been downplayed by the stability in the forex regime which has been positive in favour of the Naira for some time.

I feel FCMB PLC is a cheaper alternative when you consider how fast it is growing its loan book and dividend distribution.

Normally, ETI PLC should be giving Stanbic IBTC PLC a run for its money if it is better managed.

Lesson learnt: In this business, if you want to succeed you can't be a one-stock-man, you must at one point diversify your portfolio with different sectors. At least with a minimum of 10 stocks is not bad depending on your resources. No matter your emotional attachment to a stock, you should also buy other names.

Political economy

In most cases, the politics do determine or influence the economics e.g. US-Iran war (politics) influencing the price of oil, profits and share price of oil companies.
Also, US oil companies making bigger money by having access to Venezuela oil after US removed Maduro as president.
