It is becoming increasingly difficult to defend Jagaban’s policies in the face of the hardship they have imposed on ordinary Nigerians. The masses are suffering, and no amount of political defence or justification will change their reality. The people need relief, not excuses; meaningful solutions, not endless justifications.

If he cannot ease the suffering of Nigerians, he should honourably resign. I made this point some time ago, though I cannot remember whether it was on this platform, and some people assumed I was being mischievous. The truth is that politics and governance should never be treated as a do-or-die affair. Leadership is a responsibility, not a birthright, and when a leader can no longer deliver meaningful relief to the people, stepping aside should not be considered an act of weakness but an acknowledgement that the welfare of the people must come first.

To Oga Megawealth01 and others,

If you are not partisan or a politician, nobody expects you to defend or criticise any administration here. We are here to analyse policies and bring out reasons to invest or not invest in a particular sector or company.

But instead, we turned the thread into emotional whining, activism, blackmailing one another, and descending into nepotism, ethnicity, and partisan politics.

Our discussions here should be politically neutral and colourless. That is what I meant when I said we have a major issue as Nigerians: we cannot stand deep and meaningful discussion and argument without descending into nepotism, ethnicity, partisan politics—and worse still, blackmail.

NB: By blackmail, I mean, for example, if you say a government policy is good, they will say it is because you are APC or from the President's region. If you say the policy is bad, they will say you are from opposition party or another region, etc.

*LASACO Assurance Plc — 9M 2026 results*

Back to profit after a big loss last year:

*Headline:*
- *Pre-tax profit: ₦1.60bn* (vs ₦4.72bn loss in 9M 2025)
- *After tax: ₦1.25bn* (vs ₦4.81bn loss)
- *Insurance revenue: ₦23.81bn* (+3.71% YoY)
- *Insurance service result: ₦5.84bn profit* (vs ₦2.44bn loss) — this drove the turnaround.

*Why it recovered:*
- Insurance service expenses down 22.79% to ₦15.45bn
- Net reinsurance expenses down 53.29% to ₦2.52bn
- Not from revenue growth — revenue only grew modestly.

*Drags:*
- Net investment income down 8.87% to ₦2.47bn (interest income ₦2.33bn, dividends ₦73m)
- Running costs up 13.02% to ₦6.30bn
- Other operating income collapsed to ₦32.83m from ₦812.74m.

*Balance sheet — boosted by rights issue:*
- Total assets: ₦61.23bn (+56.03% from Dec 2025)
- Shareholders' funds: ₦39.71bn (+95.02%) — thanks to *₦18.10bn raised from share issuance*
- Liabilities: ₦21.52bn (+13.99%)
- Cash & equivalents: ₦33.76bn (from ₦14.82bn).

*But cash flow still negative:*
- Premiums received: ₦25.93bn
- Reinsurance paid: ₦7.67bn, Claims: ₦9.93bn
- *Operating activities used ₦416.82m cash* — profit didn't convert to cash yet. The rights issue is what strengthened liquidity.

*Market:* Closed at *₦1.90* on Oct 20, down 22.5% YTD from ₦2.45.

🔥 LOCO INSURANCE: TWO TOP PICKS TO WATCH! 🚀

Austinlaz traders have enjoyed decent profits. Now, attention is shifting to the insurance sector!

🎯 My top picks: GUINEA INSURANCE & IEI INSURANCE.

With recapitalization developments and Q3/Q4 results in focus, the next big opportunity could lie in stocks combining STRONG TA + CREDIBLE CATALYSTS.

The market is evolving. Fundamentals alone may not be enough this time. Technical setups backed by real catalysts could separate the leaders from the rest.

👀 GUINEA INSURANCE. IEI INSURANCE.

Are they preparing for their next major move?

Watch the charts. Watch the results. Watch the catalysts.

The next Loco insurance runners could be closer than many think! 📈🔥

Trade the setup, verify the catalyst, and manage your risk.

Shebi, I stayed away from here for just two weeks, and people started saying my account had been banned! 😂 I already explained that I only come here to talk when I’m free. Besides, I’ve realised that this place has become boring, and the only thing keeping the conversations alive is the endless debate over Jagaban’s policies! 😂

If we’ve not been talking frequently for a while, please don’t just wake up one morning and start calling me.

I won’t pick.

It doesn’t work like that anymore.

We’re not that friends again.

I don’t even know how you’re constituted now.
Or what you’re doing with your life right now.

Neither do I know the people you’re associated with from where you’re calling

Don’t insist on calls first

It won’t won’t work

We don’t do that here

Start with a chat with detailed reasons you suddenly remembered me today.
If I fancy your story, I’ll initiate a call.

I also reactivate old contacts with chats first.

No come put me for talk abeg ooh

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Streetinvestor2:
GeneralDae:
Wow. Wale Edun was a better minister of finance? Did you feel this way about him when he was in office? He implemented the main policies you cry about here everyday.

I am interested because since I was born, all I have seen fellow Nigerians do is complain and complain about the problems but when you discuss with the elites amongst them to even guage their thoughts on how they think things should be done, you discover that Nigerians don’t even know what they want nor do they know what nation building entails.

If the Nigerian elites and educated don’t know what they want, how would they know what to look for in the policies of contestants for office in order to vote wisely and teach the common man to also vote wisely?
If you have been seeing my post You will know that that tax guy has always been an idiot and failure to me.He lies like kiloda. He knows nothing that is why he nearly crashed ngx before the formal finance minister stepped in and took control to redeem the damage. He doctored the tax law passed by national assembly. The past finance minister may not be real deal or the baron didn't give him free hand to do right things.
So replacing him with oyedelee was a mistake that should not have happened. So your tax man is nothing close to compare to formal finance minister. If he was to be replaced. He should have been replaced with a far better person not a clown who goes to sing on your mandate. And is gist that the formal minister was forced to resign because he refused to sing on your mandate with fake figures.

And many nigeria elites who complain have always produced alternative solutions. Then the baron you always claim is master strategies with capacity has always said every one beside him is right
what happened when Catholic bishops paid him visit and told him about the cry of people in thr locations. They rather attacked the messengers instead of the massage. This is same thing they do to opposition voices. When obi attacked the costal high way that they should patronise existing roads. What happened. Whr are we today on Costal high way to fraud. When international bodies talk about poverty level. What do the government do or respond. They attack them.

Stop thinking you can play smart that Nigerians lack brain for solution beside the rubbish baron is giving us

What ideas are out in the NGX today?

Dangote Refinery: The idea that Nigeria can refine its own crude, stabilize FX, and democratize ownership. It raised N2.15 trillion at N525 per share, with a minimum of N5,250—explicitly designed for the masses.
Insurance: The recapitalization story. The NIIRA 2025 set a July 2026 deadline. The NGX Insurance Index returned 65.64% in 2025, and stocks that traded at kobo for years are now real sector plays.
Oando: The balance sheet repair story. N500 billion capital raise approved, rights issue filed, 40-50 kboepd exit guidance reiterated. huh
FTSE Frontiers: The reclassification story. 30 Nigerian companies entered the FTSE Frontier Index on September 21, 2026, after three years as Unclassified.
2027 Election: The policy continuity story. Analysts assess an APC victory as the "lowest-disruption scenario" for markets, sustaining FX liberalisation and fiscal consolidation.
Interim Dividends: The income story. Zenith just proposed N1.50 per share, up from N1.25, with the stock up 118% YTD.
The "Lifetime Investor" is dead: You invest with an exit target and divest when the target is reached.
Investing as a career: The idea that you can build a professional life around capital allocation, research, and portfolio management—not just as a side hustle, but as a discipline.
Family Office: The idea that wealth can be structured, preserved, and transferred across generations through a dedicated investment vehicle. This is not just for billionaires. It is a framework for anyone serious about multi-generational wealth.

What ideas are in the pipeline?

NNPCL Listing: Committed to reforming and listing NNPC on the NGX—a potential mega-listing that would deepen the market and broaden ownership.
NLNG Listing: The rumoured multi-billion dollar listing that could redefine the exchange's market capitalization.
OPay Listing: A fintech listing that would signal the tech ecosystem's migration to the public markets.
National Savings Scheme: A new vehicle for education, housing, business, and retirement with tax incentives.
Capital Market Master Plan 2.0: N750 trillion market cap by 2036. Equities market cap from 33% of GDP to 60%. Investment-grade rating within three years.

These are ideas. Not people. Not events. Ideas.

That is what this forum should be discussing.

“2027 Election: The Policy Continuity Story. Analysts assess an APC victory as the ‘lowest-disruption scenario’ for the markets, suggesting continuity in FX liberalisation and fiscal consolidation.”

You cannot discuss this without putting these issues on the table. How can we have this conversation without mentioning the names of the people responsible for the policies, especially those whose decisions are currently inflicting severe hardship on the masses? How can we discuss policy continuity without examining its human cost? If the policies are to continue, Nigerians deserve to know what they are continuing to endure, who is responsible, and whether the benefits being projected for the markets are translating into meaningful improvements in the lives of ordinary citizens.
