How should he ease the suffering? Sharing rice? distribution of cash? bringing back fuel subsidy? repegging naira?
Thanks. These are ideas introduced by the policies, they are worth discussing. Well done.

He is the President of Nigeria and has access to professionals and experts who can advise him on the best way forward. All we ask for is tangible results that will improve the lives of Nigerians; if he cannot deliver on his promises and address the suffering of the masses, then he should do the honourable thing and resign.
What you call suffering of the masses is simply inflation. Major inflation is food inflation caused majorly by lack of infrastructure between the north and south as well as post harvest losses. From your analysis and research, do you think he is taking steps or has taken steps in 3 years to resolve these problems? I don’t want you to write like someone expecting magic but one looking at steps taken beyond just current price of rice and garri.
For example, Ruto in Kenya is transforming Kibera slum by building houses for the poor. Is Tinubu doing thesame to help the poor? If he is not then he is failing and not helping the masses. This is how I like arguments rather than the general simplistic arguments the opposition presents.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeneralDae: 4:29pm On Oct 21
One of the biggest problems for foreign investors in this country for many years has been the lack of easy availability of foreign exchange. As foreign investors, one of the key changes that President Tinubu has made in the first few days of his tenure is allowing the naira to float freely in the market, letting market forces decide its value. In Nigeria, and generally across the board, there is palpable excitement among investors and companies planning to establish their bases here."

I have never called him any other name other than Jagaban, the name by which he is widely known and which he has consistently embraced. I recognise him as an elder and accord him the respect he deserves, but that respect will never stop me from speaking up for the masses who continue to bear the heavy burden of his administration’s policies and the hardship they face day after day.
Sir, I am not pointing at you specifically, but some of us do this—and we even do it to ourselves.

Beyond our right to free expression, we should all hold ourselves to the standard we discussed: name the policy, measure the outcome, and leave the insults out..

Let me now school you a bit. Whether this forum is faceless or not, it is totally uncouth to be broke shaming people. Money isn't virtue.
Then you can't be more than my former employees in both age and net worth. I also have very high net worth people as family and friend. As at 2009 I had like 15 people in my employ and I was under 30.
In Nigeria where senior civil servants with kids in the university are paid less than 4 k dollars a year, someone in Ilesa living alone in a big house spending 800 dollars per annum isn't poor. I don't pay rent. No one in the whole of Ilesa can spend more than that per annum on self unless they are wasting money intentionally. If I need to spend more I will, but I don't need to
It is somehow uncivilized to meet someone anywhere and be broke shaming them is my point. What do you even have,? You are not moving big money. You own a small business which by your own admission you invest the savings into the NGX. So you are just coming up.
Then even your employees, you need to respect them not to talk of someone old enough to be your professor in school.
So that is my advise to you. Stop broke shaming random strangers. It makes no atom of sense I tell you and my quality of life is way above yours

I had to break down what I have been trying to explain. Rather than just saying Nigerians are hungry, one can say: Nigerians are hungry because this Government removed subsidy and did not share rice to ease our pains. That’s a better policy argument one can analyze properly than just: “Nigerians are suffering” or “we are hungry”.

The food inflation was worsened because food commodities that used to come from the Sahel states (Niger Republic especially) e.g. beans, onions, tomatoes etc. stopped coming into Nigeria because of the break in diplomatic relationship as a result of the reckless attempt to invade them and the ultimatum issued to them by the Tinubu govt.
His poorly thought-out decisions and statements are responsible for a lot of hardships in the country.

I am speaking from what I personally observed during my last visit to Lagos. Nigerians are going through a lot, and with the implementation of new tax policies and several other measures expected from next year, one cannot help but worry about how the ordinary citizen will cope.

I genuinely respect Jagaban, but all I want is a Nigeria where people can afford at least three square meals a day and enjoy a stable electricity supply. Where will the poor run to when the policies meant to improve the country become an additional burden on their already unbearable living conditions? The masses need relief, not more hardship, bayi.

I go to Lagos a lot and just left a week ago even. I am disgusted by the poverty and suffering especially where I stay mainly in Agege and environs. So I know Nigerians are suffering and things are very expensive, then what? What caused the suffering and what do we want? That’s my point.
I don’t know what tax laws you think would be implemented again next year.Tax laws took effect on January 2026 and some people (poor earners) actually saw a reduction in their taxes.

Is your argument that the policies be reversed to ease the suffering? Let us debate that specifically rather than the blanket people are suffering which is common knowledge

The other day, I posted that Hamzat is a good man. Here is another good man: Alex Otti.

As for my own state governor, it appears his priority is figuring out how to fight his own brother rather than addressing the pressing needs of the people. He should channel that energy towards tackling the devastating erosion problems in Nnewi and other affected communities. Governance should be about solving people's problems, not engaging in political battles.

Nah, old story. Niger and Nigeria have made amends since around early 2025 or sometime in 2024 even. Nigeria even had to supply them fuel at a time. That cannot be a major cause of the current food inflation.

Loco na hustler! 😂 Back then, whenever he started attacking a stock, I would usually wait for the price to hit the bottom before entering. I was making good use of that strategy until I stopped because of the elections.

Watch out these 2 insurance stocks Q3 results.
There are four catalysts for both of them.

3.Private placement
4.Minimal Free floats.

The central question is not simply whether investors are excited.

It is whether the reform generates sustained investment and productive capacity while improving the welfare of Nigerians.

Reforms should be assessed not only by their effect on financial markets, but also by their effects on SMEs, employment, purchasing power and poverty.

For now ...we are still the poverty headquarters of the world.
A reform that improves macroeconomic indicators but leaves millions of citizens ....
struggling to feed, educate their children and meet basic needs must be subjected to a broader assessment....

I don't live in Nigeria, so it would be difficult for me to give you a sincere and accurate answer based on the current situation there. However, if you had asked me about the country where I currently reside, I would have been much quicker to give you an honest and well-nformed response.

Naira devaluation, removal of fuel subsidy, lack of infrastructure, insufficient private led businesses to reduce post harvest losses, too many middlemen, over dependence on northern villages for agriculture.

The food inflation is not majorly caused by lack of infrastructure btw north and south
it is caused by insecurity affecting farming
it is caused by loss of value of naira which is affecting purchasing power
it is caused by high cost of transportation

As Capital and Financial asset managers, isn't it normal that investors funds be domiciled with them for various trading activities?
Does Pension Funds Admins use their funds majorly to transact businesses?
Yet they're doing just fine.

* AVA business is similar to that of UCAP, and yes, they're still evolving.....
With good management and cost efficiency, AVA will continue to do well and deliver.....
* it has some elements of free money attached to it.

* As for Loco, no offence taking at all....
I just hope he'll be able to wait it out to reap bountifully from it 😊

The central issue is not whether Airtel is investing in Nigeria;

Airtel investment is not an answer to the immediate cost-of-living crisis.

It is whether the government adequately prepared Nigerians for the consequences of removing fuel subsidy.

if the government knew subsidy removal would raise transport and production costs,

Why wasn't a fully funded, transparent and effective relief programme operating before the policy took effect?

Just imagine the conversion of only 120,000 vehicles to CNG in more than three years, against an estimated 14 million vehicles on Nigerian roads.

Thats absolute failure ....Under 1 percent. ,,and u want us to be clapping of BAT grin cheesy

I disagree. The naira is not on free float.
what we have is cbn managed float or system float. The naira has no reason to still be on 1350 at this time with what is presently on ground. The Dangote refinery was enough to bring naira down to 1k or below. This government is the one holding it at 1300 and above. So you can not call it free float

Mercy rushed to buy Avacap after the listing at higher price.
I quickly check the stock and found it interesting looking for it to hit floor price.
This is the reason I played the game.It is not a crime nah.I am happy mercy understood the game and made some references I also understood.

Case closed bro.

Avacap is a game changer in this market. It is Ucap of our time.
Watch how it will overtake Vfd because of solid result and minimal free float.
