mikeapollo:This your fishing expedition must have brought enough fishes to start an alternative government 🙄 |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo: 4:45pm On Oct 22 |
ayobama1:That is how he (the clueless baron you are defending) was fishing until he became president! I learnt the ''expedition'' from him.. |

mikeapollo:You will become President too one day 🤣 |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ghm: 4:52pm On Oct 22 |
mikeapollo:Access Bank? I wish. That one pass me. But never say never. Let's be honest—Access is not an interim dividend play right now. The CBN is withholding approval because of a capital breach (foreign subsidiary exposure at 19.3% instead of the 10% limit). Management has until May 2027 to fix it, but so far, no concrete divestment or restructuring has landed. Until they fix it, no interim dividend. And before you accuse me of "deliberate wickedness"—we are in the same ship together. Access is my largest holding by number of units. So if I am omitting it, I am omitting myself. It is not wickedness, just facts. If Access fixes the breach and declares an interim dividend, I will add it myself. |

ayobama1:I would not become president if/when I am not ready for the intellectual and physical demands of the job. I don't have ''emilokan'' mentality or sense of entitlement |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo: 4:56pm On Oct 22 |
ghm:Yeah, you are right. But they seem to be gradually divesting some of their foreign subsidiaries. They may just announce a big deal by end of December in order to avoid breaching the Mar2027 deadline. Such divestment may lead to cash distribution to shareholders (special dividend) and potential jump in the share price. Lets wait and see |

| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ositadima1(m): 7:02pm On Oct 22 |
BullBearMkt:I hope you understand what is wrong here. Simply presenting a chart without making the proper adjustments can lead you astray. Did you account for devaluation? The growth you're seeing is expressed in naira, which has been devalued significantly. To make a fair comparison, you need to put all the countries on a common basis before plotting the data. That means converting each data point into its dollar equivalent at the time (the dollar has also lost value, but it is still a relatively useful benchmark) and then plotting the results. Let's see if we still get that parabolic upward curve after making these adjustments. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ositadima1(m): 7:07pm On Oct 22 |
BullBearMkt:Your application of the data is wrong. In percentage terms, relative to its own baseline, Nigeria performed very well. However, since we are comparing different countries, you need to express the data for all of them in the same unit to make a fair comparison. |

| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo: 7:40pm On Oct 22 |
crownprince2017:You get it wrong. It is not all about winning election for everybody critiizing the govt. Any presudent can "win" an election Nigera. Buhari won a second term OBJ did. Abacha would have won election if he did not die Obasanjo would have won if the Senate did not block him for 3rd term "Winning" an election in Nigeria is not too difficult for a desperate sitting President. By hook or crook he can always win. Political parronage, money, thugs, ignorant electorate, security agencies, INEC righing, is all that it requires for a desperate sitting president to win agsin. So in acrual fact Tinubu can "win" again, either genuinely or otherwise. But that does not indicate he has performed well in govt. Several of such examples abound in Africa! It is nothing new For me, he has a clear advantage unless something drastic happens. But I am not imoressed by his performance in govt. It has been poor! |
