Pep just tried to get a little too cute! He actually started well but started to overdo and overcomplicate things all he had to do was make subtle changes to what Juup built but na overskill kill ninja

This World Cup shows Bayern is still among the elite or is the elite sef

Bayern have got the players that can rule europe for a very long period, the biggest question is, have they got the right gaffer?

Pep is all about longevity - that's fine. He gives his team an identity - that's still ok. He works with a philosophy - well who doesn't? But what he fails to understand is that, when the going gets tough that's when you turn back to the drawing board. That's when you take a second to consider tweaking your philosophy!

His affinity for tiki-taka has cost him in the past and would keep haunting him till he learns to modify - till he learns to avoid being predictable.

I'd say the dude is meant for fantasy, he's not a pragmatist.

See as Loew who used to come all out to play take upgrade. He now chases results by all means. Introduced strategies like having men behind the ball and deploying a highline tactic at the back {so as to win possession}.

Pep needs to wake up lest na after una fine fine play, back to Munich would be the case.

pkasso: That statement was a bit ill-timed i must confess but pinning all of Brazil's defensive woes on David Luiz is just cheap forgetting that Dante was as equally culpable.I could as well point to the fact that Boateng nearly gave away a penalty and was too easily turned for Oscar's goal but it's not my style.A below average showing against Germany won't change the fact that Luiz has had a great tournament.
Anyways, what a game! I'd have never had thought we would annihilate Brazil but that devastating six-minute spell was just something else.I couldn't have asked for more from the boys.Combining aesthetic football with ruthless efficiency.
Luiz has had far more playing time and I expected him to be a bit more composed than Dante who was yet to kick a ball at the World Cup. He was the freaking captain yet became arguably the worst Brazilian on the night! Luiz was clearly outplayed by Boateng who had to cover up for the sluggish and tedious Mertescatter in the second half

I'll try resending it tho.

Argies in the final. They've not been too impressive but somehow something have kept 'em moving and at this stage, one cant afford to take them less serious.

You see us having a walk in the park on Sunday?

@A40 I like to think a CB is as good as his defensive partner.Try pairing a Baresi with a wack defender, say Senderos then you will understand what i mean.T Silva's absence was also crucial.I can easily count the no of games Dante and Luiz have started as a CB pair on my digits. The cohesion and telepathic understanding between Silva and Luiz wasn't there. For the first time in the tournament, we saw an impulsive, unsettled David Luiz making rash and needless challenges. That calming influence from Silva was clearly missing.I've always said that a calm and clear-headed David Luiz is one of the best CBs in the world.Loool you are making it sound like Boateng made a million last-ditch tackles. The team was already 5 goals up and a front-line of Hulk, Fred and Bernard isn't exactly the deadliest strikeforce to start with.I would like to see how he performs when he comes up against assassins in the shape of Messi and possibly Di Maria.

Factoid: Thomas Mueller has covered 68,777m at this World Cup more than anyone else

Ja gut one! I would check it out

Its a Final and Finals are rarely ever easy i think Argentina are better coached than the last time around and have looked very organised defensively Die Mannschaft have to play to their strengths one of which is being clinical from freekicks and corners, with the DMs shielding the defence (Khedira and Fussballgott) i think Germany has a bit more quality to just edge it over Argentina

Even if you pair Baresi with a wack defender there would be certain moments where you would know Baresi is Baresi. What part of that did you see in Luiz yesterday? Dante is no rookie and played a key role in our treble, Luiz is also pushing half a century of caps so I don't buy that argument. We have seen makeshift defences do a decent job in the past

pkasso:
.For the first time in the tournament, we saw an impulsive, unsettled David Luiz making rash and needless challenges. That calming influence from Silva was clearly missing.I've always said that a calm and clear-headed David Luiz is one of the best CBs in the world.
So why then do you claim he is one of the best CBs in the world if he always needs a Thiago Silva to be a calming influence in his life? We can clearly see he is not all that and PSG have thrown money inside shalanga but like Kermit "its not my business"

How can a captain put up such a shyte performance and you are still here trying to defend the indefensible? It says a lot about his maturity or lack thereof that he cannot raise his game and play a more cerebral role in the absence of his regular partner. So why on earth is he starting ahead of Dante? Granted the DM's played very poorly but Luiz has no excuse for his performance

pkasso:
Loool you are making it sound like Boateng made a million last-ditch tackles. The team was already 5 goals up and a front-line of Hulk, Fred and Bernard isn't exactly the deadliest strikeforce to start with.I would like to see how he performs when he comes up against assassins in the shape of Messi and possibly Di Maria.
A well positioned defender would not need to make tackles in the first place but that's besides the point. The attack of Messi and Di Maria have scored a paltry 8 goals in 6 matches so far so I'm not exactly quaking in my boots! It really would boil down to guys like Fussballgott, Khedira and occasionally Kroos properly shielding the defence like they did the last time, Argentina presented an even more lethal strikeforce at the last WC with Messi, Higuain, Tevez and Aguero yet a CB pairing of Arne Friedrich and Mertesacker were barely troubled because the midfield adequately protected them

Looks like we have landed Keylor Navas though €10m is quite a lot for a backup goalie

Mandzukic finally moves to Atleti. Would really have loved for him to stay but it seems Pep's mind was set. Thanks for the memories and the goal in that UCL Final
Re: Offical Bayern Munich Fan Thread: 6x Champions Of Europe by pkasso(m): 9:43pm On Jul 11, 2014
So Mandzukic is off to Atletico but it is the Keylor Navas deal that leaves me scratching my head. What is the point in having two great GKs when one is basically going to sit on the bench? Perhaps Guardiola has finally lost it and is secretly planning on converting Neuer to a sweeper. You just never know with that man.Or maybe this was just part of a grand plan to offload Mandzukic to Madrid considering the fact that Atletico were frontrunners for Navas' signature.I dunno why i've got these conspiracy theories flying around in my head.

What bayern needs to do now is to sign a CB by all means. Lore got to the final not only because of Miller and kroos, but because we had lahm Meyer and the solid Hummels. Bayern needs a CB like Hummels.

At this rate i will be running out of excuses for David Luiz. The guy fall my hand big time tonight.Boateng might just have a chance afterall.
Re: Offical Bayern Munich Fan Thread: 6x Champions Of Europe by A40(m): 11:46pm On Jul 12, 2014
Isn't £30m a tad too much for a CB with just one good season under his belt with no previous experience in elite Europe? He is 27 for goodness sake!

There are a lot of fairly priced options! And if we must overpay I see no reason why we aren't or didn't go in hard for Ezequiel Garay before the World Cup by now his price would skyrocket thanks to his solid showing at the World Cup

And while we are talking about defenders I hope pkasso and Toba saw Calamity Luiz at his calamitous best as usual. I would take Boateng over him 24/7, 365 and 366 days in a leap year

Tomorrow is a big day for FC Bayern. Very anxious about it and I hope Der Jungs get the job done

I dey tell you! That was arguably Schweini's biggest performance in a Germany shirt. He also had two assists in that game if my memory serves me well.I've not seen anyone do a better yeoman's job on Lionel Messi since then(well, except for Godin and Miranda).Basti is my nigga but let's face it, he has not impressed since that cameo against Ghana.I understand he's not fully fit and is probably playing through the pain barrier but he's been too conservative and even Khedira has been more adventurous. It would be interesting to see a Messi-Hummels duel.I remember him shackling Messi in a friendly against Argentina some years ago before going off injured.I mean if he can stop CR7,who says he can't do the same to Messi.I pray and hope Boateng steps up and plays the game of his life.THIS IS IT, BOYS!

Schweini's conservativeness is the reason Kroos and Khedira can bomb forward to begin with. He is the glue that holds that middle together and he puts in the majority of the defensive work required in that midfield

Schweini isn't really known for his ball-winning abilities.I feel Khedira will be better suited to a destroyer role.I hope with Kramer starting today he will get the chance to bomb forward. And WTF Toni Kroos thinking??
