Op, you've prolly been carried away by oil and gas sector. Do you know that professionals in aeronautic and maritime earns more than all the aforementioned? Politics nko? Do you know what it takes to occupy public office? An ordinary P.A. to a commissioner (let's not talk President and Governors) earns over N2m monthly. Do your verification and come back with fact. 1 Like |

government scale is the ideal standard 4 measuring what several fields earn.how many people get 2 work with oil companies? private companies have different scales for paying their workers so u rily cnt use that 2 judge. now using federal scale, what does government pay at entry level for engineers, teachers, lawyers, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, scientists. dats wen u cn say wat field is best. nd based on dis I can say that medical field rily r wel paid relative 2 oda fields at entry level nd even wen u follow up with mor experience. 1 Like |

Kericoo: Hello.. I will advise you choose microbiology, because it is broader that brewing. If you major in brewing, you sort of limit yourself to some extent. And getting into Nigerian Breweries is not an easy task. I attempted it in 2012, but was screened out at the second stage. It was called function specific test by workforce, and the test na die. Yes, some people would be chosen at the end, but how many? Only the very best would be chosen! 2 Likes |

Naija always using "outliers" as average.. Most engineers don't work in IOC and don't get paid a lot. I know of accountants with 2:1 that get paid less than 100k working for banks. 2 Likes |

b3llo: Can someone pls tell me how good does a biochemist get paid. There no is particular range for biochemistry graduates. It all depends on where you work. For you to get a good job with biochemisty, u most graduate with a good grade then polish your mathematical skills and presentation skills. With that you can go for any kind of firm, from oil n gas to maanufauturing firm to pharmaceutical firms. I work with the lagest FMCG company in the country n with my degree in biochemisty, my pay at entry level was 6.0M/annum. Please this is not to brag but to encourage the biochemstry students out there. I was really discouraged as a student. 1 Like 1 Share |
