Anyway, I'm a Filipina and married to a Nigerian. I've been in Nigeria and we have properties over there, however we are base here in Malaysia. To answer the main question, YES there are lots of Nigerians in the Philippines, and most Nigerians I know from there are big boys already, I even know the owner of the Nigerian Restaurants and Bars in Manila. FYI, there are Nigerians in Manila that have a legal job and they're jobs are paying better compare to their previous job in Nigeria. Honestly, the attitude of filipinos and nigerians (specially igbo) are almost the same. The weather are also the same. But I can say that our city is better than Nigeria, we are more developed.We also have more tourist destinations and attractions than in Naija, and most of all, we have 24 hours electricity (nepa) and water. We are also far far better than Columbia, I've been there as well.

Before I travel to Nigeria I heard [/b]a lot of [b]bad things about naija from our nigerian friends also, they told me about kidnappings, poor power supply, water, bad roads, dust and poison, Even my husband told me about those things and warned me as well. But, I will still come back in Naija, and maybe 3 years from now, we will be staying there for good since we are building our house over there.

Yes, your country is not much developed compare to the other countries I've been, but I love your people. [b]Nigerians in Nigeria are very friendly, accomodating, sociable[/b], I love your food, specially "suya", Your goods in the market are very cheap! And most of all my in-laws loves me and I got a lot of special treatment from people, government and banks, hehehehe!!!!

A piece of advice, try to travel in other countries so that you'll be open minded. Most of the times, media are bias, Would you believe, there are white people thinking that Africa is a junglewell, because of the movies they watched like Madagascar, Tarzan, Blood Diamond ( although Blood Diamond is a nice movie),

There are still Nigerians abroad that are very proud of your country, if they will mention the down side of Naija, they will just say that your government is corrupt, that your country needs a good leader. They told me before that Nigeria is a very rich country, that one Nigerian can buy the whole Malaysia and Philippines. Yes, your country is blessed with natural resources, minerals, oil and hard working people. But, once a foreigner arrived in your airport and see the city, it will be a great surprise! Unless, you will see the big houses and big cars,

However, there are also Nigerians abroad that chose not to go home anymore. They decided to marry a foreigner and have their own family in a foreign land, some of them will tell you that they are Nigerian but they grew up in UK or USA (with a strong nigerian accent ), I remember one filipina stewardess who assisted me in my flight from Naija, she told me that I am very strong and brave to stay in Naija! Because when they were assigned in a flight to Naija, they all get scared. It was their first time to go out in the airport with an armed police escort, two police cars at the front and back of their van! They were also given an instruction not to go out from the hotel, and they they have to put their luggages at the back of their doors!!!,

Well, our case is different, me and my husband saw a lot of good opportunities in Naija!

Well 1st think is to thank you for your post, it's clear that you're an open minded and educated smart person to say the things you said about both Nigeria and the Philippines.

I am a British/Nigerian was born and grew up in London England but my parents are Nigerians and i have a girl friend who is a Filipina. I have now been in the Philippines since the 23th of Feb and still here enjoying myself . I live in a place call Koronadal City near General Santos . I will like to meet other good Nigerians or other black people just to make friends don't get me wrong people out here are really cool and friendly but would just like to meet other Nigerian. I already have few British friends and the other thing is i am also looking for a air freight/courier company too, did you find any that was trusted ?

Philippines? yall can't be serious for real, you can only see Igbo boys taking the risk of flooding Asian countries just because some of them are scared to face the interview at the western embassies in Nigeria but only to get hooked up with Asian visa agents to get the stuff for a good living without knowing much about the country they're planning to enter & at the end some of 'em up begging for food in countries malaysia etc when they can't get a job but end up selling drugs.

Manila and Philippines is nice not because im biased, im now practicing in singapore because i can earn here more and i always go back to philippines like every 3 months because its so nice there, majority of the people are courteous and friendly. Every country has its own pride and downside as well. Like here in Singapore which is very nice place and very clean and very safe but many Singaporeans are not so happy because of very stressful life, i guess visiting Philipppines wont be a bad idea. Im going back there with Singaporean friends this August 1-12 must know where to go and u will surely love it. thanks

but guys what about the natural disasters always rocking in Philippines? are there some towns or states only affected just like bokoharam in Nigeria issue? what petty jobs can one get to do in Philippines to aid survival if some one is there to study?

yes am tobi. anyways, you ask a question pertaining the the disasters, i must tell u the honnest truth, YES there's typhoon YOLANDA. apart from typhoon theres nothing else. and it depends on where u are staying and studying. like where i stay and study. i mean the province i am, even when the typhoon started, it dosnt really get to us that much, yes we will feel it but not to the extend of anything destroying. we feel the wind and al. the first time i experienced it, i was scared but trust me, typhoon na like breeze way just get power.. theres nothing special about it... as i said, it depends on where u reside in philippines. thats why before u come here, try to know the place you are really going too. but philippines is a very nice country to study.. for nursing, marine engineering, maraine transportation, criminology,medicine, etc.. very affordable and flexible in terms of payment and all.. i dont regret studying here cuz am getting the best and sound education over here as i will say.. i must be honnest and truthful.. the typhoon comes like 2wice in a year.. thats all. not as bad as u think.. but if its for admission into school u can ask and will enlighting u about it..

Although i have been doing some researches about the philippines. My choice areas are Manila and Cebu. How would you describe the impact of the storm in these areas?

Furthermore, i will like to know whats the average tuition fee for both engineering and management related fields.

And lastly, i learnt about some TESDA accredited courses in terms of vocation. What do u know about vocational training in the philippines, the average cost and training quality

please let me add this jara, how much on the average can one survive with daily and accomodation et al.
