Thanks bro.

ifeykay: Has anything changed on The Transcorp Hotel's IPO? Thought it was to have opened on 24th September and end on September 3o.

When I thought this would have ended, then I got this mail today from one of the NSE brokerage firm "XXXXX Securities Limited would like to invite you to participate in the on-going Transcorp Hotels Plc (THP) Initial Public Offer.
THP is offering 800,000,000 Ordinary shares of 50 kobo each at N10.00 per share. The offer opened on the 25th September and is due to close on the 17th October 2014"

Did the cowboys get some disappointments? Any reason for the shift in dateshuhhuh

shocked shocked
After what happened with Transcorp plc IPO back then in 2007 (bought at N7.50 then it dropped to N0.50), many people will be skeptical about this offer. Smart investors will rather buy from the secondary market than to get waylaid again by these cowboys. **Once bitten twice shy**

If they like they can extend it till after elections, that one is their own headache. smiley

Mpeace: I don't really know much about Meritrade, but with Morgan you must be ready to call and call and call and sent emails, text messages etc from time to time. Inshort I know what I went through to open my acct with them, and at the end of the day, I had to open another acct with a smaller broking firm for peace of mind. Before Morgancapital and Faithfuls decend on me, note that I am not a competitor, am just one of those that feel things can be done without having to do followups and complaints. I think Morgan is either a little bit overhyped or cannot cope with the volume of new accts.
I am really surprised at the negative comments about Morgan and her customer service because my experience has been totally different. Infact, the promptness of their service to me have made me do over 85% of my transactions with them. When I was making enquiries about account opening via email, they were the first to respond. When I sent in almost at the same time the account opening documentations, the were the first to open (I think it took less than 60 hours). About a month ago, I had to liquidate some positions across two stockbroking firms, again they came first in effecting sales and transferring the proceeds to my bank. My experiences shared here happened between May and early September.
I will not forget to to say that their reduced brokerage fees have been cool too.

Disclaimer: I am neither a staff nor shareholder of Morgan. Infact I am yet to step into their office. Most of my transactions have been over the internet with me at a distance of over 6000 km from their location, the closest being over 500 km from their office (once). This is neither an endorsement nor advert, just my experience!

ANBAKO: ANBAKO: House,

I sold some of my stocks with Meristem. Deal completed since friday 19th, september, 2014 but I cannot withdraw my funds using the online meritrade site.

I tried reaching them but to know avail E-mails and calls. Unfortunately, I am presently out of the country and I really need this money to sort some things urgently.

Please advise on what to do.

Please house, no development from Meristem. Does anyone has a personal phone number that I can call. If anyone has access to them help me please.

Thanks
Send a mail to contact@meristemng.com and call 012717350 to speak with a meristem customer agent and tender your complaints. You can also contact meristem or meritrade on nairaland by sending them a PM.. Let them know the difficulty you are going through and how immediate you need the funds..

But honestly i see no reason why they shouldnt pay you your money. However, try again and let us know the feedback becos i also have an account with them and will not tolerate a crap like this.

Enjoy.

Serious monkey hunting my brother. People are smart now. Let them buy the IPO themselves while we buy from the secondary market when it falls to our usual junction. grin

I have always told people that Uncle Tony will soon debut on the Forbes list. He presently has major shareholdings in 4 coys listed on the NSE (Uba,Ubacap,Afriprud, transcorp) and now Transcorp Hotels. I expect him to spin off the power coy and energy coy and get it listed separately once the euphoria that will surround power coys will gain momentum in the next couple of years. This euphoria might just lead to the next bubble... grin grin

Did you change your default password when it was reset? If NO, that's the reason why it's still giving you problem maybe it has expired. Try to change it to your own personal password when next the reset is done.
