BetaThings: Stop making noise and go to court to contest the judgement. If you want to wear hijab, go to a Muslim school. Simple! I wonder why anybody with a functioning brain will have to learn Arabic before he/she can pray to God. Why can't we Africans say our prayers in our native languages. After all God understands all. Now some funny people are going to court over wearing of hijab that's an Arab sh..et. Just dsame way I see some funny men wrapping their heads with all kinds of clothes looking like ninjas. Africa is really messed up. We need to wake up. 6 Likes |

maylisa: You don't have to make ignorant comments just to support your point. Where in saudi do you see female students going to school without hijab. They hijab is not forced on anybody but it is actually preferred for them to wear the hijabi in saudia and you therefore see most of the female students wearing not just hijab, but the face veil especially those in the public schools. In addition, boys and girls don't stay in the same compound right from grade 1. 2 Likes 1 Share |

abdul01: Go and sit down Mr man. If you really want to kill yourself over this issue of hijab, talk to your wealthy Muslim brothers to build Islamic schools and stop wasting money on terrorism. Your female folks can wear hijab to Islamic schools ONLY. You don't have to look like a masquerade and smell like sh..t before you cover you body. It's common sense. Dress well and wear clothes that'll cover your body. I do not understand how a woman's hair or face has become a sensitive part that can be termed indecent or seductive, except you mean to tell me that your muslim brothers are moved by any part of a woman's body they see, even the nose or ears. Please you all need to stop getting on ppl nerves. A lot of you guys have caused too many problems for the world already. 6 Likes |

I wonder why all this talk about wearing Hijab, In Sokoto where I served Christians were forced to wear Hijab why? They say its part of their school uniforms. And do you see those christians complaining? NO!. Even in times of daily devotion, In Sokoto especially in the school in served the never say christian prayer, its only muslim prayer, and the lackadaisical manner at which they sing the national anthem is appalling. Why is it that when decisions doesn't favor muslims they shout their head out!?. To me Lagos state government have the right to say what goes on in its school and what doesn't!. Any parent who want his or her child/ward to wear hijab should send that child to and Islamic school period, just the way parents send their kids to private universities because of ASUU strike. If you ask me, I'll say religion: Christianity and Islam should be banned! There continuous struggle for supremacy is adding to the episodic decadence that has been tearing this country apart since 1960. 3 Likes |

Some muslims could be very funny and even some christians too! If state edicts and laws dont go your ways, many muslims simply turn against eachother in the name of religion. Education is not compulsory,if it doesnt favor your type of belief or religion, the last option is to ignore it. I also find it surprising when people ignore traditional religion, why must you wear Hijab when its never been part of the school uniform, what do you think other religions will ask for ? And some say traditionalists impose curfew during sacrificial exercises, anyway,my advise is this,NEVER TRY TO OPPOSE TRADITIONAL CURFEWS IN YOUR COMMUNITY,THEIR WRATH IS NOT BIBLICAL NEITHER IS IT QUARANIC ! OGUN,SANGO OR AMADIOHA WILL STRIKE YOU ! JUST TRY IT AND SEE ! Go and study your books while you can, your predecessors have read without Hijab in the past and your generation cant be different. |

isick: Perfect. Afterall Islam does not like its women mixing with men. If you must follow islam to the last dot, stay home, go out only with your bros, dad, uncke or hubby. Forget education as a girl and marry at 8. On tge other hand, hajiyas can open a girl only school for the girls nau. Then they can dress as their religion wants. But isnt that a no no? Since islam does not allow women to leave homes without male relatives. 1 Like |

ayinba1: Madam, if public schools are funded with tax payers moneys, are Muslims the only people paying tax? Ur daughters can wear hijab to anywhere they like except a school, a public school, because it is mixed. There is a uniform and the hijab is not part of it. They can wear the hijab when going home or on their way to school. But the moment you step ur feet on the school compound, u take off the hijab. If we should be free to exercise our religions just the way we like, then a son of an Ifa priest can wear a a rope with a vulture's skull as pendant to school. I'm sureness u'll like that. No hijab in PUBLIC schools. Simple as ABC 2 Likes |

abdulkayus:. . IRK and CRK being taught in schools because they are required subjects for you to read some courses in the university. for example, you can't read Islamic education, or Islamic law without having at least a credit in IRK in waec and IRK being part of ur jamb combination. So also, some universities request a combination of english, govt, literature, CRK for u to read some courses like Law, Mass com. e.t.c So IRK and CRK being offered in schools is not purely for religious purposes or sentiments....they are required subjects. . . As for the issue of fellowship, I can tell you from personal experience that there are public schools which alternate their fellowships. i.e Christians lead the morning fellowship on designated days like Mondays n Thursdays while Muslims lead on Tuesdays and Thursdays and both groups have seperate fellowships on Fridays. . Wearing of Hijab has not been outlawed in the state, it has only been outlawed within the four walls of a public school. wearing hijab creates a form of segregation/ distinction. If you enter a classroom you can immediately differentiate between the Muslim and the christian girls through the hijab they are wearing which should not be so. This breeds a situation where a class is divided along religious lines. Section 10 of our constitution was placed there for a reason. let's keep it that way. 4 Likes |

Jnrbayerno: Anybody can wear hijab, but not where it is unsuitable. Even in Christianity, there are many regulations which most Christians no longer observe or take serious. Laws, be they religious, or common, are meant for mankind; but mankind is not made for laws. In other words, mankind must at every stage abandon any laws that are no longer in tune with the time. If, as is obvious, the use of Hijab or Burqa restrains a female's vision in today's fast-moving world with fast moving objects like vehicles, trains, motorcycles, and bicycles, etc., why must a female be constrained to wear those hijab and burqas that constrain her vision? These days, some Westerners even taunt Muslims with the saying that "Muslims Bag their Females." |

[quote author=richardjemedafe1 post=27234303] Wow! So we still have some sensible judges in this. Yes we still have sensible judges abeg they should open the constitution and quote where it said hijab is allowed in schools. Freedom of religion does not entail wearing of hijab in schools. |

You keep mentioning Uniforms as if they are scared objects sent from heaven and not made by human beings. The point is MAKE UNIFORMS THAT ACCOMODATE HIJAB FOR THOSE WHO WANT IT! willibounce1: Of course you and I know that neither Ifa priests nor their sons wear these things to places other than their shrines/events. "The non hijab wearing students will feel inferior to the ones wearing hijab". I can't believe a judge will make such an ignorant and unfounded statement to support her decision in such a case. She and so many of you against the wearing of hijab are straight up hypocrites or very biased. If the schools are secular...free from religion or display of religious identity I would agree that hijab should be banned. But how can you even try to justify the banning of the option of wearing hijab on the grounds of the schools are secular when the very schools have non optional devotion every day? Can someone who be casting stones justify that for me ...please? ....and while at it...shouldn't the wearing of rosaries/crucifixes be also banned?....how can the country progress when so many are blind...blinded by religion and lead into intolerance? I am waiting....I know you can explain. 2 Likes |

BetaThings: Oga, Christians fellowships on sunday has more to do with convenience (work-free-day) than the day be called sunday. At least they can get every of their members together since it's a work-free-day. Btw, Christians are very much ready to start gathering on monday (if monday becomes a work-free-day and sunday becomes a working day). Christianity is as liberating as that! 1 Like |

[quote author=BetaThings post=27234960] Is this judge aware that the NATIONAL CHRISTMAS TREE was paid for by government money Please I appreciate the desire of the my muslim brothers, it is just that it will cause more harm than good, In yoruba land Christians and muslims see each other as one, in the same extended families we have christian fathers muslim uncles, muslim husband christian wives, interfaith marriages... this will start seperating our kids from young creating unhealthy pychological barriers, which bigots(both christian & Muslims) will use to there advantage. Imagine a scenario in which a primary school boy shoves an hijab wearing mate (which they usually do wheather they are christian or muslim), she falls and her hijab falls off, do you know that other kids can react and say he did it deliberately or he is fighting her because she is muslim, some other can even start fighting the boy saying why are you beating my muslim sister degenerating into something else, whereas the are quarelling cos of a pencil or biro, whereas school kids have been quarelling forever.. It is a delicate issue though... My Question: How many of the parents fighting for this wear HIjab, to the office, market, wedding, burial, bar beach, or everywhere they go...? I also believe the govt can sponsor and promote religious events both ways, our various religions is what is still instilling in us the little left morals that we have.....in abuja FCT and Tourism parastatal decorate the town during sallah and christmas, National Mosque was built by FG under abacha. 1 Like |
