It's a sin unless it's concieved by a married person. Every religion states it categorically clear, even traditional religion.

Sexual desire is not a sin but if you allow it to brew it becomes one. If for e.g. you are having such desires about a co-worker then its no sin but having sex with that co-worker after having the desires then makes it a sin. So in summary it is a sin and it is not a sin.

Is thirst a sin? What about hunger? what about the desire to be comfortable?

Now is drinking excessive alcohol a sin? What about gluttony? what about cheating to make money? what about greed?

Sexual desire is in every man. Yes some people have been able to suppress it better than others. This does not imply that it is a sin.

You have sexual desires but do you let it bother you all day and dwell on it? Even for the non religious this is not healthy for the mind. Do you let it make you carry out the desire especially outside wedlock? (That is looking at it from a biblical perspective).

Get this straight a healthy sexual desire is very imortant in every individual in fact you should thank God you have one but your ability to control this desire is what distinguishes individuals. So having a sexual desire is not in itself a sin. It is actually the very next thing you do that edifies or condemns you. To consistently think about or let your sexual desires lead your actions is giving in to lust. So watch it. Anybody can fall into this but the sure remedy is not trying to do the right thing based on your strength and disciplinE but on the control and power of the Holy Spirit.

Your level of spirituality cannot shield you from desiring sex at a particular time or the other in your life time. Prove me wrong by telling me you never for once in your life desired sex! Those who preach it desires it most! Am also a christian but the truth must be told!

No its not.
Even real pastors get evil forebodings, evil imaginations, sexual thought and lusts generally. They are not immune to it.

The only difference is that they do not give in.
They cast it out and constantly speak against it.
Till they probably get to a level where casting down all imaginations becomes easy with them through the help of the Holy Spirit.

I remember an analogy a pastor shared.
He was with his friend walking down a street at Challenge in Ibadan and there was this lady wearing a silky white trouser with all the panty lines showing and with a bead around her waster making the giggling and bubbling more prominent.

He said he and the friend had to walk past the lady as fast as possible because if they keep walking behind her, it may pose a risk to their christian life.

Conclusively sexual desire is not a sin but feeding the deisre in our minds which eventually leads to the action is a sin.

Sexual desires 〓 Feeding the desire 〓 Acting the desire.

The second and third is a sin.
However, it may be counted as sin for a married man who is having number one towards another woman.
It may become a sin if it becomes frequent in the life of a single man.

At the end of the day, we can only try. All is left to God.
