Unfortunately the medical paperwork is only valid for six months, so you will likely need a new medical report. We'll let you know when you should get one. Thanks!

Hello good day to you ma,
My name is Ibraheem a beneficiary of a US Spouse. I have few questions for you that has been battling my mind. No 1, I haven't seen my wife in 2 years will that be a problem for me during my interview?
No 2, We got a checklist which we responded back to and was scanned to the NVC System as of 22 of September and I still haven't hear from them till date.
No 3, Can I move somewhere else with my wife till I have visa Interview date? Because the long waiting is really killing us, my wife cries all the time which is making me feel so bad because nothing will ever stop me from being with my wife anywhere or wherever.
No 4, Also there's a age difference between us but we love each other soooooo much
No 5, Why does some people's AP takes so long even when they had a genuine relationship?

Thank you very much in advance ma and i'll be looking forward to your answers I really need your advice.

Greetings sir!

1. We'll have questions about why you haven't seen each other in two years, but if your answers are credible, it won't be an issue.
2. It takes NVC several weeks, sometimes months, to respond, due to their overwhelming caseload. You might want to send them an e-mail and ask for confirmation that they received your information.
3. I don't see a problem with you and your wife moving somewhere else -- although at the time of your interview, you'll have to demonstrate that you plan to make a life together in the United States. Petitioners should be domiciled in the U.S., or there's no reason to issue a visa to their beneficiaries. But if she can show that she plans to return with you, or if she returns first and establishes a domicile, that sounds fine.
4. Age difference: No wahala, that happens to us officers too sometimes, you know. smiley
5. "Why does some people's AP takes so long even when they had a genuine relationship?" A variety of reasons. Sometimes people live in very remote areas; sometimes they don't fill out the contact sheet we request accurately enough to help us. Often the administrative processing has nothing to do with the relationship at all, such as when we uncover derogatory information about the beneficiary and have to find out whether it's true before we can issue a visa. There are many many reasons for administrative processing, but we never do it unless it's necessary.

Hope this helps!

good day c.o, my wife and myself came for a dv infterview in 2011 and unfortunately we were alleged of marriage misrepresentation and alien smuggling for false claim of marriage, though fear and sadnesswas responsible for our failure but the pure truth is that we are real husband and wife blessed with 2yrs old boy now. now my sibling , a citizen of america want to file for me and my family. my quetion now is that if she files us now, will that not stand as barrier for any subsequent visa application for me and my family before the 12yrs for the filling will mature, and again do we still need waiver in as much as we are still the same couple with a boy now. again when we applied in 2011, we submitted an application for a son and he would have be 3month older in our interviewed month but will lost him before the interviewed and with all that pains we were refused. kindly enlightened me on our case.

Dear VO,
my case is at the embassy, i took my kids for DNA test collection 2days ago at the embassy. I asked one of the staff how long it'll take for them to contact us after collection of sample, and she said 6weeks. I was like waaaaoooohhh that long? I want to know how long to get the results, how long it will take for the embassy to contact us and if their will be a second interview. This process is very tedious. I can't wait to be with my husband and it's hurts to see our kids cry wen talking to their dad on Skype. It hurts so bad. Sorry for deviating. Thank you.

My guess is that the officer will ask State to remove the ineligibilities, instead of asking you to go through the waiver process. I'm glad to hear that you have another opportunity to apply for an immigrant visa!

Looks like it's close to being ready to schedule for an interview. We've already filled December, so it should be some time in 2015.

It depends how long your laboratory takes to process the tests. Mail to and from the labs takes less than a week, and then it takes us a week at most to process the results and contact the families once the results arrive here. I hope yours arrive soon!

Greetings! Without knowing which case is yours, I can't be sure -- but -- I can't imagine that we'd ask you for meds, police, passport if we didn't intend to issue a visa. smiley (I'll make sure my staff is telling people WHY they're being asked to drop those things off....)

It's not in our system yet -- but we receive new expedited cases almost every day, so don't lose hope. NVC will contact you when your appointment has been scheduled.

LGS2013627011 is my case number

Here's an insider peek at what our case notes look like sometimes:

06-NOV-2014: OK to issue upon receipt of valid meds, police.

12-NOV-2014: DHL dropped off med and pol; pick up Nov 19, 2014

So your visa should be available at the collection center next week Wednesday. I apologize that that wasn't communicated more clearly!

Dear VO,
It was with a heavy heart that I read the email sent to me about collection being scheduled for February 4th 2015. What a wait? Why the wait... very devastated and disappointed. I know I wrote an email requesting for everything I needed to do to help expedite my case as nvc said it was in lagos. I wish I was told to go do the DNA then and by now it'll be a wrap. Cos Its Seems That Practically Everyone That Filed FOR A Child Is asked for DNA. So why not ask upfront.
I understand that some unscrupulous things/pple have happened but the act of some bad ones shouldn't affect all. As I write this I got off the phone with my son who has been crying since he received the email. He has spent 1 year and half at home while all his mates have gone to college. Not because I can't afford to put him college in nigeria but because it doesn't make sense shoving him in and out when his visa is ready.
Sounds like I am throwing a tantrum but I'm sure u understand my plight. This is my one and only child. It hurts. Thank you for all your help and for reading
