Time is ruining out.YOUWIN should disburse the first tranch so dat business can commence.elections are around the corner.my opinion.
Re: Youwin Business Competition 2013 by Denn(m): 6:24pm On Nov 13, 2014
Depreciation of the Naira to the lowest witnessed in 3 years.
Falling crude oil prices.
High cost of re-election
Increasing cost of insurgency
Year end and relation to budgeting
Re: Youwin Business Competition 2013 by jeffmyson(m): 7:56pm On Nov 13, 2014
The biggest fear I have is the falling price of crude oil. If this trend continue, government might not be able to meet its obligations and some programs might become casualty (Youwin, God forbid). One analyst on CNBC was predicting a fall in price of oil to $30 in few months time.

It is high time our government try and diversify our economy from oil to a manufacturing one and the government should seriously consider de valuing the Naira so that its real value can be determined by market forces rather than speculation.

I really pray Youwin begin disbursement with weeks to enable us get on with our businesses and start creating those value and jobs. The longer they take to disburse, the less value our grant awards become.

Wanna share my experience at GTB Central business District in Abuja here.

Seems Coolkizzy and Denn are both having conflicting notion about the account opening and all.
The fact here is that both of you are partially right.
Today at the bank I was required to present these:

1. The original CAC certificate plus the other documents included on that dispatch brown envelop from CAC

2. Valid ID

3 TIN number

4. Company stamp (for business name)
Stamp + seal (for LtD)

5. You need to guarantors from the same bank (ie if u are designated to Gtb...u need 2 (two) guarantors from gtb that operate cooperate accounts with the bank...same applicable to other banks....from what my account officer said, u could still get guarantors to sign the form for you from another bank BUT the hitch as regards this is that...they 'll have to mail the other bank from which the guarantors are from to confirm b4 allowing you to access your funds but this doesn't mean your account can't be opened. So the long and short of the idea of getting guarantors from same bank to sign on the form is just for the EASE and Convenience of Confirming their status as regards standing in for you in case of any need for the bank to contact you.

5 photocopies of these documents will be made in the bank as a photocopier is readily available

6 you'll also have to fill in the cooperate aCcount form patiently and meticulously. The Questions are quite straight forward and easy 45mins max u should be done.

7. The account officer asked a couple of questions as regards you place of business
Or residential address as the case may be.
Simple questions like : color of the building, gate color..fenced or not? Etc
This is because the banks will still verify your address using their independent agent to either get a clear glimpse about the customer in question and check-mate fraud in future if need be.

8. Youwin gave banks a one week deadline to revert back to them as regards accounts and all. So the earlier you get done with yours ...the faster you get your tranch 1. As simple as that.

Finally, wishing all in the house a hitch free account opening experience where ever you are. This's my own little quota to show appreciation for this wonderful thread so far.

E-hugs.
Thanks for sharing bro.

I hope they don't intend to charge C.O.T on the accounts because it is supposed to be C.O.T free.

Its not being paranoid. It's just analysis and understanding of the current macro economic indicators.
Re: Youwin Business Competition 2013 by awezu: 9:02am On Nov 14, 2014
i am really amused and i understand the fear and panic but guys common the federal govt of Nigeria is not broke atall and cant be in years to come, the factors mentioned yes are important but they are not the main determinants of the buoyancy of the nation.

Nigeria currently has a GDP of about $540billion (highest in Africa) with GDP growth rate of 7% in 2014 which makes her the second largest investment country in Africa after South Africa and among the top 20 fastest growing economies in the world hence investors all over the world keep trooping in every hour.
World financial and economic regulatory bodies are watching closing and trust me the economy is not just in Jonathan's hands so re-election, insurgency and budget is of little effect.

The sectors that have accounted for this growth are Agriculture, Services and Manufacturing to the tone of 85% combined while the almighty crude oil is only responsible for 14% so falling crude oil is not really a concern. The economy is doing very well and National income is flowing like never before alongside finance, grants , bonds and securities from int'l bodies and trade partners. Yea inflation is on the increase and value of Naira is diminishing too but per capital income is on the increase too so it kind of balances out

I dont want to bore you guys with analytics but if the govt is to give N10m to all 1,500 awardees (15 billion) it wont shake the national purse atall so lets relax and await our first tranche. If they stop youwin 3 ( which they wont by Gods grace) then its not becos of lack of funds

Reduce the scale at which u proposed, possibly work out a new cashflow analysis to match your approved grant and you are gud again.

Nothing stops all from being launched at once. Those to run it are already in place. I have a business for both the VC and youwin.

Tranche 1. Please house what does this exactly mean? For example, if your 10m was approved, does this mean first tranche is only 1million or something
Re: Youwin Business Competition 2013 by bamistol: 5:04am On Nov 15, 2014
Can we call this confusion or negligence? They have NOT done presidential award lunch, no single boot camp for YouWiN! 3, yet they want to commission YouWiN! 4. November is already midway. Are we expected to start business in December? The worst month to start biz. Or January when people are looking for money everywhere or February when election is all over. We just have to embark on serious prayer and fasting at this juncture so that God can intervene and clear the confusion from the air. On a lighter mood... have they forgotten about YouWiN! 3? God forbid!

Can somebody help us remind them that we are still waiting. Now on a serious note. We need to contact YouWiN! secretariat and plead with them that time is fast running. I will do that as soon as I post this comment. From my view it is better the YouWiN! secretariat combine the award ceremony of YouWiN! 3 with the YouWiN! 4 launching as usual. I will appeal to them and I know they have listening ear.

Coolkizzy, how is it bro? Youwin4 app will soon be opened. I want to star from where I left. smiley I want to know where I got it wrong in the second stage of Youwin3.
I am directing this to you because we are in the same industry : beauty and personal care.
My question: are you employees on commission i.e pay per performance or they are all on fixed salary. In my case, only the receptionist is on fixed salary.
While this might not be the reason I was chosen as an alternative in the second stage, I am trying to know where I got it wrong. Though, I figured out I made a slight mistake on the spreadsheet smiley but I've learnt my lesson, in competition like this, no chances are left for any mistake.
I would be looking forward to hearing from you and every other member with similar experience.

One of the risks associated with with our kind of business is high employee turnover, to mitigate this risk employees are placed on a merger BASIC salary while they earn by commission, this will make them relaxed and patient when the business suffers teething problems, first three-four months.

that was how I reasoned and that was what I told youwin, hope this helps
