Pls, I want to seek expert advice here. My interview holds later this month in Lagos. Time slated is 6:30 a.m. I stay at Ogba, Ikeja.

Is it advisable I leave (probably with a taxi) that morning (say like 5.00 am) and get to embassy before or by 6:30, considering distance, traffic etc? The day is Wednesday. Also, does the interview exactly start by the 6:30 am or it's just 'formality'?

PS: I am not a lagosian. Just came here for my nysc and dunno much about how the whole Island and traffic thing work.

An adequate reply or advice would be appreciated.

Arrange with the taxi very well so that he can pick you up exactly 5am cos anything after 5am is not that good and before 6:30am you will get to the embassy cos the best route for the taxi will be from Ogba to secretariat and from there to 7up directly to third mainland bride then to embassy but expect small traffic when linking down to the third mainland bridge.

People for 6:30am will starts going inside exactly 6:00am but if you mistakenly gets there 12noon, you will still enter and do your interview so don't be scared and dont get there 12noon

Wednesday there wont be much traffic compared to Monday own

I hope this will help you grin grin grin

Hi everyone, please I need your candid advice, please no insults as I m already demoralised.i went for my interview at the usa embassy yesterday in abuja, but got a denial.i am married and about 3mnths pregnant.i got am admission for a PhD in a uni in the states. I actually have an intention of schooling and nothing else.i went to the embassy without paying servis fee,d only documents I had were my i2o and passport. I did a masters in the UK in 2012.i have been working since I got back.could my denial be as a result of the pregnancy which wasn't showing at all or non payment of servis fee.i really do not want to miss my admission.please what do u advice please?should I try reapplying?

I think its because of the sevis fee...you have to pay that before going for the interview.

Hello, Good day to everybody.
@imperioxxx, zeezahbee,slimmy05,walspring, doctormalik and other great people on this forum,

Please I'm asking this question based on one of my friends.

He got withdrawal from medicine and surgery at OAU in 300 level, they gave him an alternative to go and start frm 200 level in other departmnt, so he's now studying child Development and Family studies.
He is so much interested in going for medicine and surgery in US.
Please is it possible for him to apply and start as an undergraduate in medicine and surgery, with GA for tuition waiver prior to his present Undergraduate discipline, or pls is it possible to apply as a transfer studnt for medicine and surgery after he has graduated, with reference to his undergraduate discipline and without attending the pre medicine sch in US?
He is ready to write all standardized exams.

Thanks for your usual help...

How do you expect us to ascertain why you were denied..when you could not explain what you answered..reveal your schools and the major you paid for?

Sevis was written boldly not paid..did you pay the sevis?

well shey they woman get witch for she to just ask if you are pregnant without you stating it on your ds160...

You said you are going for phd and you were denied, this is the first time i will see someone going for phd got denied.

If you truly pregnant and you denied it then you were denied because you didn't tell the VO the truth.

Also before the interview at thepoint where you dropped your passport and I-20, were you asked where is your sevis receipt or why don't you pay for sevis fee because those people ask you first before passing your documents to VO that will interview you.

Main looking at things here, is either you were denied because of sevis fee and not pregnancy because some people might be pregnant and they might not know so you telling VO no and there is no trace of big belle can justify your no but sevis is bold written on your documents and embassy website that you should pay it before your interview.

Kindly pay sevis fee and re fire back to get your visa and also go and get or medical report stating that you are pregnant.

Well that's my own opinion anyway.

You are right but at the same time some women cant identify if they are

right to some extent.
Pregnancy is just like an examination, in which everybody will come out
frm the exam hall and say they will definitely pass it, whereas Some
will pass and some will Fail.

There are two sides to a coin, same with Pregnancy, Once you engage in
such act, you must be expecting a result, the result may now be positive
or Negative.

But you dnt jst sit down and make an assumption about the result.

Pls I hope you understnd my illustration?

@slimmy @imperioxx @msnas and a lot of guys giving invaluable advice God will definitely bless you.

Have read previous threads and it really enlightened me on how i should go forward in my Admission process.

I 'badly' need help on GRE materials i can study on as am presently opting for MSC in a yet to be decided US school next year.

I have HND in Accounts(2003),MBA in Finance(2012) and about 8 years working experience and ampresently still working

*Please good guys, what are my chances in the US school admission as i have not applied for a Visa before and i'll be 36yrs old next year,as it is on my int'l' Passport.i also have an uncle and brother in the US who have decided to sponsor me.

*I have started applying to US schools but i read here the importance of having a standardized test like a GRE to better my chances of getting a VISA thats why i earnestly need it.

All your useful tips will be highly welcomed of my chances and hope for fall admission next year.

Thanks,
Much appreciation.
