You've just highlighted the reason why @Arresa opened a thread like this.

Apart from Roads (That everyone is so quick to point out and the pics everywhere online) nothing much seems to be happening in that state apart from one large General Hospital, the Stadium, Ibom Tropicana and other singular projects.

The largest State budget in Nigeria should produce a far larger effect than that.

If Billions of dollars has been pumped into an economy consisting of 4-5 million inhabitants, it should be obvious in terms of money in circulation. People should be flocking in that direction in search of Jobs.

I won't lie, I love the New Akwa Ibom Stadium's design, it looks miles better than Teslim Balogun Stadium.

But with the facilities provided for the AKS Stadium, its far less useful than the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

The only eye catching thing about that stadium is the exterior decoration, it's just another football field.

The sad part remains the fact that beyond track and football, it's pretty much useless because it doesn't have any training pitch, no swimming pool, no basketball court, no tennis court, no football court, no volleyball pitch....Nothing. It's just a football pitch.

FIFA approved Teslim Balogun Stadium and the stadium SUCCESSFULLY hosted FIFA's under 17 world cup tournament and the National sports festival because Abuja stadium was trash and rotten and there wasn't any other worthy sports venue in Nigeria to do it..

As things stand right now, Akwa Ibom can not host any sports festival with just a football pitch and zero sub facilities beyond the track and football pitch..

If you are going to waste money on something, at least do it right and get your money's worth...

I stay in lag, I hear a lot of good things from friends in uyo,
So I decided to spend my vacation there.
Believe me that state apart from abuja, is the neatest state in nigeria.
The road networks are so beautiful, done my julius berger,
Lovely structures everywhere.
@ OP I don't. Know were u got that pic, but am sure its not akwa ibom.
Even if it is awka ibom, no government is perfect in this World and u have to understand that.
