What we are seeing is executive rascality perpetrated by the desperate people in government in their bid to illegitimately prevent an Elected Speaker and His colleagues from gaining access in the the house and preside over the job they were elected for. The government have gone mad!!!!!! Nigeria can't burn because of PDP. Solidarity Forever 33 Likes |

The C-in-C should act with tact. There are better ways of tackling things like this. You are losing it your Excellency. Get back on track. We would appreciate it the more, if we can get such security barricade against the activities of the evil boys in the North East and other areas of their operations. You're losing it Your Excellency. Reuben where are you, give us a piece you would have written if you where not in the "boat". This is sickening. You have lost it Your Excellency. 59 Likes 4 Shares |

Tell me what the Law says about the positions of the Senate President and Speaker's position in a presidential system like ours? Why didn't other parties except PDP present their candidates in 2011 for the said position if it is not strictly for the majority party in the House? Some of you are mere teenagers who do not know jack about the system. Please go and read your Mills and Boom. smileandlove: 5 Likes |

Schematics: Have you forgotten the Speaker didn't obey PDP zoning arrangement?! Thanks to the Opposition Lawmakers who gave him their votes. I can authoritatively tell you that Tambuwal was elected by Opposition Lawmakers, PDP Lawmakers only gave him some little votes. That asides, can you show us where in the Constitution states that the Speaker must come from the majority?! Out of the 10 Principal Officers, aside the Speaker and the Deputy, the other 8 political party would be considered before being selected/elected! 8 Likes |

Can you tell us why other parties with the except of PDP not present candidates in 2011 for the said position? Or was there no other party in the House as at that time? Why was the race narrowed that to only the PDP candidates (Tambuwal and Mulika)? Why is that? donphilopus: 1 Like |

barcanista: 68. (1) A member of the Senate or of the House of Representatives shall vacate his seat in the House of which he is a member if - (a) he becomes a member of another legislative house. (b) any other circumstances arise that, if he were not a member of the Senate or the House of Representatives, would cause him to be disqualified for election as a member; (c) he ceases to be a citizen of Nigeria; (d) he becomes President, Vice-President, Governor, Deputy Governor or a Minister of the Government of the Federation or a Commissioner of the Government of a State or a Special Adviser. (e) save as otherwise prescribed by this Constitution, he becomes a member of a commission or other body established by this Constitution or by any other law. (f) without just cause he is absent from meetings of the House of which he is a member for a period amounting in the aggregate to more than one-third of the total number of days during which the House meets in any one year; (g) being a person whose election to the House was sponsored by a political party, he becomes a member of another political party before the expiration of the period for which that House was elected; Provided that his membership of the latter political party is not as a result of a division in the political party of which he was previously a member or of a merger of two or more political parties or factions by one of which he was previously sponsored; or (h) the President of the Senate or, as the case may be, the Speaker of the House of Representatives receives a certificate under the hand of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission stating that the provisions of section 69 of this Constitution have been complied with in respect of the recall of that member. AS can be clearly deciphered from the boldenend portion tambuwal is no longer a member of the HOR 12 Likes 2 Shares |
