The soldiers yab. Abeg!
What do they think their guns are for? they should have shot the useless asewo janjawid.

Fool, why displaying your stupidity?! The same Soldiers who take to their heels whenever Boko Haram is mentioned. Their guns always fail them whenever they engage the insurgents, but respond whenever they're ordered from above to intimidate the opposition leaders. You're a perfect example of a moooron!

Hope PDP would bear all these as an opposition when the government in power [APC] would start doing theirs come next year?!

If the progressives ALLOW this to go unchallenged, I'll never sysmpathise with them again. Oh my country Nigeria, I weep for thee. Jonathan! you are a shame to the comity of nations and the entire black race.

Heroes of the people are normally tear gassed. No big deal.

Nigeria democracy on the brink! If this people continue like this, America's prediction that Nigeria may not exceed 2015 may as well come to pass.

The position of governor is not the same as Speaker. The office of Speaker is naturally for the majority in the House, and in this case the PDP is the majority and not the other way round!

Put yourself together and reason properly..

Is Mimiko still Governor of Ondo State? YES.

This is executive recklessness of the highest order perpetuated by Jonathan against the legislature.
This is a good ground to commence impeachment moves against the fool in aso rock. Jonathan has stabbed democracy on his back. grin

Senate President and Speaker Tambuwal now meeting in one of the Chambers- A closed door meeting!

Talk of solidarity!! Whatever happens, members of the National Assembly should stick together irrespective of party affiliations. What happens to one today can be the turn of another tomorrow.

A lot of people have spewed utter rubbish here and I pity them because they appear to be talking for talking sake not minding if the executive have powers to do what they are doing presently.

@ NgeneUkwenu

This is a right move.

Is he still the speaker of the House? NO

He got Speaker's post because PDP was and is still the majority in the House. Now that he has pitched his tent with APC which has minority in the House, the right thing to do is to relinquish his position immediately he decamped.

I don't know why some people want to create unnecessary attention.

You can't eat your 'gworo kola' and have it back!

Complete bunkum.
The right thing to do if he chooses not to resign is to commence impeachment moves against the Speaker by the members of house of Representatives themselves and not from either aso rock or wadata plaza. Not even from the senate.

I hope those encouraging inappropriate behaviour know the weightiness of the Government's actions.

We are slowly Creeping back to the military era mindset where subversion by force is the name of the game.

. Sir your assertion is wrong, the house elects for its self a speaker ie (1st among equals) and the speaker is from the house and NOT any political party. In other words, the members elects who they want irrespective of the party. But what happens is that the party that has the majority will always win, because all members will vote one person.

PDP should just be guided by common sense. This approach will only make people have more sympathy for Tambuwal/APC and start disliking PDP. There are much better ways this situation could have been managed.

In any rift, it's always good to gain the moral high ground. PDP is fast losing it...

Why didn't ACN nor Labour Party nor APGA present candidates for the said position in 2011?

Why was it only PDP that presented candidates (Tambuwal and Mulikat)?

Why is that?

You need to know the basis for the election in the first place, which is based on majority party in the House and not the other way round..

Good move by the security agencies. We cannot tolerate lawlessness, section 68(g) of the 1999 constitution must be enforced
