people simply hide their age due to low level of achievement...u'll be proud to shout ur age to the whole world no matter how old u are if u've achieved a lot.

Whenever i tell anybody my real age they tend to reduce it for me,saying am increasing my age. My small stature they bring confusion, so its not my fault they lie on my behalf

u made a lot of sense with this your post,thumbs up.Am guilty of faking my age even online,whenever it is close to my birthday i use to change my year of birth on Facebook to increase by at least 2 years for some reasons.Am actually in my early 20s and I find it funny when i found that there are people as old as 43 years or more on Nairaland,lol......Nice post.

For d first time on NL, I saw a post dat actually touched my heart. Seriously I'm guilty of dis, apart from my mum and broda no one else knows my real, cos I'm actually really younger than all d people around me and I also feel too young, which sometimes I wish I'm older... But dunno how to get them to knw my real age. Imagine me having a friend who are 4, 5 or 6 years older than me.. I feel somehow

Bro, you have to be yourself. I haven't gained anything my whole life via lying. Tell them your the truth. Take advantage of their experiences.

when i was in school, i was older than all my room mates... funny i revealed my age then bf and he didnt do the same. i found out in our final yr that i was 4yrs older than dis dude... During NYSC i was among the youngest, even in my lodge i was d youngest. why should i hid my age huh

I have never had a problem telling my real age and i still dont.Even though my age mates are above me in some areas of life,lying about my age doesnt change that fact instead it just troubles my head coz my next step will be planning how to maintain the lie.I still dont blame those that choose to lie coz some human beings can be so insensitive!

Okay, let me start first by introducing myself and making public my age. I'm a Tiv speaking Nigerian from Benue state. I'm 25 years old. Would be 26 next February 14th (you can wish me happy birthday in advance. Thanks).

Serious talk now...

Never in my whole life time have I ever added nor reduced a second from my actual years and never would i do that. I've always been proud of my age any time, anywhere with anybody.

I think one of the reasons why people reduce their years to suit their desires is due to lack of integrity. But there is something this 'fake' people fail to understand; the uniqueness in being who you really are. That is the one thing i'll never trade for a billion dollar. Being who you really are is the greatest thing that a man can do for himself. It relieves you off so many unnecessary stress and sets you free, allowing you to fly freely anywhere anytime like a bird in the sky.

Is it because of getting a job? Peace of mind would not be your potion at that job...

I seriously don't see any reason why i should fake myself.

I don't usually hide my age but I don't tell everyone to avoid insult.I will like to share my experince,most of my coursemates I am 5 years to 6 years and even 7 years older dan dem,dere ws dis particular one dat had a disagreement wit me and he started lashing me,telling me dat my mates dis,my mate dat,and dis particular boy,I am older dan him wit 7 years,I did nt really feel sad cos he obviously spoke immaturely bt I felt sad alittle because shit happens and I am not where,I wnt to be and anoda reason I hide my age is because I like being myself and wen pple no my age dey start saying "he is not behaving his age"bla bla,anoda is because I wnt most pple around me to be free wit me bt once dey no my age,dey start being so respectful
