I came across a post by a female Nlder saying if its a must that every relationship end up in marriage. I was even surprised that it was coming from a female. IMO, why would you be in a relationship with someone when you don't see any future with him/her. Some are in a relationship so that they can belong, while away time, prove a point (e.g getting back at their ex) or for personal gains (which is called friend with benefits). No matter how much magnitude a relationship has, as long as it lacks direction. Its just a waste of time, energy and probably money on the part of both parties involved. But that's just my own opinion and not the opinion of many. So do you think every relationship should end up in marriage or not 9 Likes |

I agree with your opinion. I think there is no point going into a relationship if u've not carefully had a meeting with yourself on the issue of your future with that person. No need sampling various partners cos to me it's a waste of precious time. You can have close friends of the opposite sex but when it comes to being more than friends, one should be able to tell where it will end and if marriage is notin sight, then to me, it's not worth it. 7 Likes |

it depends on what values u place on it and how u both define it. Not everyone is thinking about marriage right away or even know if u are marriage worthy but are willing to get into a relationship with u to find out or just to have a close companion at that moment. personal speaking u don't get into a relationship thinking about marriage but rather to know the person and if it makes sense u can take it further. How u conduct urselves and set boundaries in that relationship is up to you and a different story. But if u program ur mind from the start to end up in marriage even b4 knowing them I think u will make alot of mistakes and overlook alot of red flags. 2 Likes |

Think about this........with the mighty power of God, he took him 33 Earth years to become the savior, is it necessary for God to wait 33 years to die for us? So what am saying is this: even if there are directions and future potentials, it's not a signal to enter marriage. Marriage not relationship is a covenant therefore you must be ready for the worst and prepare for the best, meaning you would meet a lot of people that will not waste your time, but you won't get married, and you will meet people that will waste your time, and might get married. Therefore instead of asking for future potential or direction, ask God for purpose, who is he/she?, Is he/she the right person for me? No it must not ooooooooo esp with the kind of gender paradi g these days. 99.7% of first relationship do not lead to marriage. Even 80%0of all second relationships do not lead to marriage. It's all trial by error till u find the one u can tolerate. |
