Shy guy or not, you are a man and if you want something, you get your butt up and grab it. There are ways a lady can express her interest in a guy without directly proposing and unless the guy is daft, he should know and take it up from there if the feeling is mutual.

Well not asking out Per se. But my first year in the university I told a close male friend I was Hot and stuff happened.

Oh however he asked me out and I said no, and things got weird and I stopped talking to him.
