i always surprise when i heard people talking of paying fee to post office...though personally i dont use free shipping by chinese post or whatever free shipping that landed at post office but most of newbies around me uses it but no kobo charges is being demanding from them...just today one if them received goods worth 30.5 kg by post office but he pay no kobo...

i want to believe th at its not official charges others importer pay cause if its official then post office in abuja would've demand for that too

If some folks are paying and others aren't, it's simply cos the official memo has not been given the widest circulation within the NIPOST circle. You will only pay N500 for handling charge if your parcel is 1kg and below.

Bros, it's not a matter of luck oh. I just believe that is the standard practice nationwide.
I receive goods from NIPOST at Abuja and Jos. In fact they even call me always to let me know that I have got parcels FOC.
I have never payed nor forced to pay a dime for their services. Maybe we have honest NIPOST officers up here in the North than the South.
Ibadan NIPOST officers must be robbing you guys blind .

my advice to all newbies importer , stop importation for this month and resume next month January...this month December its a rush hours month and if you dont know your way out you will always be in problem....

The best thing is for you to do it yourself. Use Google translate to translate the site and type in your tracking number.

The issue about leaving importation now till next year is the very truth. Why?
1) let Custom - NAHCO bluhaha settle well well.

2) Dollar is on the rise and high now. Let dollar settle.

3) Transit/waybill cost within Nigeria is getting high now and will increase your cost and eat into your profit. If you couldn't finish selling by next year when things settle your goods will be too costly to sell profitably.

4) We, you think are still importing is just to maintain customers and are just clearing our goods hanging at NAHCO shed.

5) Because of custom - NAHCO loggerhead goods will flood the market at the same time.

6) Moreover, we always find a way to use express to dodge NAHCO warehouse.

7) We are taking a very big risk which we are not comfortable advising a newbie to take.

If not for my customers that mounted pressure on me nothing would have made me to do importation this December.

Please leaving importation till next year is a very sensible advice.

You are right my brother, alot of customers goods which they had paid me earlier for normal shipping, i have been forced to use express, just to please them and displease my self, but in other way its good, i just want to keep my reputation intact, but i had to let them know what we are passing through, some clients too, which their goods is still trapped now, i didn't want to break their heart too much because customs and nahco, so i had to re buy items again and use express, so by the time their normal cargo come out of warehouse, i will look for a way to sell it, but anyhow, the profit has far gone.....na big loose i dey, but i think its better for me to loose to make my customers happy even though they new the saga... i dey wish una jollified xmass

Pls house i need help here, i ordered 4 4 items 4rm 2 sellers as samples 4rm aliexpress. 2 Necklaces and 2 Necklace pendants and they both shipped 2 SP in China. I've been trying 2 reach miss wang but no reply and response but i later got SP himself and he said the tracking number i sent to him is wrong nd i shuld contact my seller. The tracking numbers was also sent 2 his lady staff in Nigeria office and she said the goods have been delivered to their office in China which i told him and he said he will check. Right now i'm confused and dnt knw where to start from or do i contact the sellers and tell them to call SP so they can describe the goods cos they both said they forgot 2 write my details on the package. Don't worry too much since it has been delivered to their China office.

Next time, tell your seller to snap and send you the product pictures before shipping to your agent.

Contact Patrick tomorrow and tell him to search for the item using the tracking number.

Send your name, phone number and the tracking number to SP. your items will be delivered. you can also tell your seller to contact them.
