Hope to meet you then too. The weather has been like naija weather, was sunny all thru last week, but changed on sat cos there was light showers. its a bit cold now, about 48 degrees Fahrenheit, still bearable though and not as cold as the northern states. Also what airport do you intend to land in?

I ll be flying BA n my POE is Dallas. Can u confirm from ur Dr the medical tests u need to do n bring along in Feb? That ll help.

@House,pls did anyone that has already given birth in US do the pap smear test n Chlamydia in Nig? Cos I wanted to do n I was advised not to cos it's not advisable to do such test in pregnancy. M trying to do most of the tests in Nig so I can cut costs. Thank you

Hi, PM who exactly? Apart from dropping contacts and numbers which the moderator forbids there shouldn't be anything we cant yarn here. Don't forget its a faceless forum people can get duped easily. I feel the thread should remain the primary source of information while the BBM groups and PM's should be the secondary sources. That way the thread keeps growing. I also think the poster is on the right track .

Don't think I want to fly BA again, I dint like the flight from Lagos to London, no leg room at all on d economy cabin, and am not even looking forward to my flight back to Lagos. Will probably fly emirates on my return to the U.S.
I ll get a list of the test and get back to you.

Hello Hopefulme,

Congrats on your visa. Was your interview in Lagos or Abuja and did you wait 90 days before re-applying?
Am considering re-applying for the third time in Lagos, can't go to Abuja cos my tommy is huge and can't wait 90 days either no time again.

Thanks in advance for your response.

Thanks a lot. don't mind them. I am not using doctoresparati o. wanted a vbac but theirs was high. So got a more reasonable Vbac fee.

I agree, when i went to do mine in abuja i saw one lady that looked like she will soon pop and she was given.
If you can @sisiolu just try one more time. Our prayers are with you. You dont have to wait 90 days

If she didn't exceed the date stamped on her passport, she should be ok. Where she would have issues is future renewals since she didn't declare that she was going to give birth. She should make sure she pays in full and keep her receipts for proof.

I wrote to the embassy asking if i needed to renew my visa before travelling for childbirth, since my visa will expire while i'm there and they responded that I don't need to. That so long I have a valid visa to enter the US, the POE officer will determine how long I can stay for.

=exxy post=28714036]a friend just gave birth in new york, she entered the states with a visit visa and her visa expired some months back, pls house will her child get citenzenship? if there is a procedure for that, how will she go about it.

Hi, immediatly your friends visa expired,i dont think she had any legal right to still be in the us,she was ill adviced, what she should have done was renew her visa b4 travelling. As it is now,it will be almost imposible for her to be able to get any further us visa. Something similar happened to a friend that travelled to the uk and took ill while she was there and was hospitalised and during all this wahala her visa expired, after returning to nigeria it was impossible for her to re-enter the uk agan, all her visa applications were rejected, this went on for about 7yrs and not untill she got a lawyer in the uk that took up her case b4 they eventualy gave her a visa, all these was after 7yrs and plenty money spent.
As for her baby,i dont think she would have any problem getting his american passport. The issue is her being able to re-visit the us

Hi everyone,

Reporting from El Paso Doctoresparati, just had my baby this past weekend and was treated really well by the staff. One very interesting point that I might mention is that Monday I had the opportunity to check my account balance and was shocked to see my bill was $22,381.00!!!!shocked This was only the hospital package that is mentioned on the doctoresparati website as $2700, not including the Doctors fee. I contacted Melissa (whom I had been in contact with from doctoresparati.com) and she mentioned that this was correct that the normal price is not what international patients pay and that my balance would be adjusted (she gave me instructions on receiving zero balance statement). When my sister went to pick up the zero balance letter, it had no pending charges, so I was really happy.

We are in the process of moving to a different hotel since my mother in law is arriving soon and we need a more space but there seems to be more and more people arriving from Naija in the last 2 weeks and the people that are already here have been really helpful. One important detail if you are traveling to El Paso, do your homework on the weather, we were told by family in Minnesota that it is very cold in the US in December so we packed heavy coats and winter clothes, but the weather is very comfortable in El Paso so we have a lot of winter clothes that we did not use. As of now we are awaiting birth certificate, I will try to post as much information on my experience as possible (Passport/visa). By His grace all things are possible!!!!

Please advice your friend to thread carefully. She should seek expert advice possibly from an immigration lawyer or any other person who is well informed about such issues.

I noticed all through my baby's documentation processing that the officials encountered checked both my visit visa page and the stamped date for me to leave the US.
They were checked at the point of getting birth certificate and US passport

Well I have a different view to this just like @shelly23 said. As long as she had a valid visa when she entered the us and the date stamped on her passport to leave the US has not expired, then she's good. The UK system and that of Us is quite different. In the UK, ur visa allows you entry and stay in the UK. While in d us, ur visa allows u entry at the point of entry alone but the boarder officers determines your period of stay in the us. This has been well argued in the past on this thread and if I remember correctly b4 the tsunami I think someone even had a similar issue where her visa expired before the date stamped on her passport at poe expired

Hi, I'm new here and it's nice to meet all you wonderful mom's and dad's. I'm an April mom who is planning a march trip. Still so very undecided on the POE to use....have read some really amazing and scary POE stories. Concentrating on finding a doctor first. And from what I've been reading on this thread, oak bend and el paso seem to be really worth checking out. I'll appreciate any and all help I can get. smiley

@Malory84,

Please what hospital are you using in el paso that has a cheaper vbac than doctoresparati. Please share the details.

I had a myeomectomy in August last year and would like to try a Vbac but doctoresparati seems to be expensive, so I was opting for CS with them. But if you are using a cheaper hospital for vbac, I could explore them.

Waiting for your reply abeg.

I am elpaso bound in 2nd week January, POE is Chicago. Anyone going to elpaso in January? I need company o.

Can someone help with this?

Trying to schedule an appointment at the embassy. After filling in all required fields, it has taken me to a page with heading - "DropBox Confirmation"

Also displayed on that page is - "First Available Appointment Is Thursday January 8, 2015."

It's kind of confusing- I have no business with dropbox plus is "First Available Appointment Is Thursday January 8, 2015." a confirmation of an appointment?

Weird.

Even if your friend was smuggled into the US, or your friend had her baby in US airspace eg, the plane was passing over the states and she gave birth. The child is a citizen automatically. EXCEPT Your friend is a diplomat and came for a diplomatic assignment and had her baby during the said assignment, Then the baby won't be a citizen. Kapish?? ...
