I am surprised that you are asking this question now at this perilous time. However, whenever the bulls return ,my simple advise is that you take whatever loot you have left in the stock market and scram. If you were told that fbhn will sell for N7 will you believe?..the reality is sinking in now and we are not even in wave 5 talkless of seeing the grand papa of all bears..

I expected the cowboys to perform their stunts but I guessed they too have ran off from this sinking ship called the NSE..

However, the decision is yours to make...@bigass made a wise decision yesterday by leaving the market for the holy one. The ball is in your court.

It crashed before and after 5years,it bounced back and now that the previous events is repeating itself we should take advantage of low price stocks with strong fundamentals/dividend pay out to massively increase our holdings for long term....Previously when the market crashed,I was so angry and turned away from anything equity and when it bounced back,I couldn't make any profits from the market since I didn't buy any stock within that period....Dont dull yourself, buy cheap now and plan to sell four years later....But buy a lot!....My opinion...

If FBNH shld pay #1 as dividend next year, it means it is 12.83 % div yield. The question is, will they b able to pay it.
One nid to invest in div paying stock with @ least 12% div yield, now dat d market is not friendly.

Market crash has nothing to do with earnings of FBNH......As for FBNH,if you read todays news very well, their head of finance said oil price will not affect their earnings and he said their dividend payment increases every year and this year won't be different....So do the math.....

FBNH might not be able to pay up to N1 dividend. They plan to retain as much earnings as possible to meet up with the minimum CAR for Basel 2/3 compliance. This was revealed in their last conference call.

I think anything between 0.5 to 0.8 might be ideal.

Aiico is one stock that I have my eyes on in the insurance space. They just cleaned off their balance sheet and seem to be starting on a stronger clean slate. I also expect their pension arm to start adding significantly to their bottom line as their assets under management continue to increase as a result of the new pension law. I bought earlier at 80kobo but I hope to add more when the price gets to the car park grin grin grin grin

FBNH is not even in a good state to give out bonuses. With 32Billion OS,which is about 2-3Billion higher than the closest bank on the NSE, add that to their declining bottom line and get the real picture. The silver lining is that top line has seen improvement in 2014,if they are able to improve on their efficiency and convert much of that to profit going forward, then they can be truly back on track.

It seems like we are gradually approaching the all share index low of 2009. shocked shocked shocked shocked . The stock market as a leading technical indicator seems to be telling us how challenging the economy is going to be in 2015.
