Sometimes people just don't know where to draw the line..call me bush but I don't even get random people I am not close to trying to famz and hug me as an adult not to talk of kissing a child that is not yours on the mouth

I have told my daughter who likes all those touchy feely things that only mummy and daddy are allowed to give you kisses on the mouth..my son is kinda reserved and won't even give you a cuddle if he is not used to you...

The line should be drawn at cuddles and even that sef (that's me with other people's kids) depends on the level of closeness.

He doesn't even give her hugs anymore.

So she knows its totally bad for strangers to do so too..

I actually started saying NO Kiss kiss and cross my lips with my finger whenever she puckers her lips and starts doing muaaahhhhh,,,,,, and madam will not stop the muaaahhhhh until it has landed somewhere on your face,,LOL,,so sweet.....

Now some bad belles want to take away this sweetness shared between me and my baby cos am desperate to let her know that kissing anyone asides me and dad is a NO NO,,,,,,,

Please, more suggestions as to how we can deal with this issue and like i said especially when it comes to people you wouldn't normally be so direct with out of respect,,,,,like your in-laws or close friends....if its a neighbor or random stranger, that one no hard at all.

Picture this,,,,one smokey robinson brother-inlaw finishes his stick of cigarette just before stepping into your house and your daughter is going direct for muaahhhhhh,,,,,,ayama!

Kids will always be kids you can't change that unless they outgrow the phase. Fact. It's now left to parents to do their part. E.g Hugs & pecks are basic greetings in my neck of the woods, we are huggers and kissers. It'll be highly repulsive and shocking if I'm told off by any of my group of family and friends not to kiss/hug their kids. This is what we do.

In other words: Don't invite people you're uncomfortable around into your home. Simples.

I didn't find it funny at all. If I'm driving and he's in the car, I'll ask my daughter to come and sit in front with me Abeg. I no fit shout.

It's absolutely normal for some kids to get mushy and touchy but you must warn them not to do that to any other person beyond you. If you are a man or woman and you are in the habit of unnecessary touching of kids limit it to your kids abi which one is all that ke

My children only great from a distance. As soon as the interest gets further, I make excuses "she is shy please leave her" or I call an older child too take the child out of the room.
I never allow my kid`s to be with me when visitors come. So it is a quick greeting and out. I have mastered this over the years so friends do not have much contact to them. I also rarely entertain visitors even though I am pretty social.

is it not better to teach them no kissing than totally avoiding it for them in case of when you are not around them

When I was a student, a course mate kissed my baby and that was the last time anyone did till I left school, didn't know when I yelled " my son is not you boy Friend!" in a full class and many other unprintables I vomited in my native dialect, i was almost convulsing with vexation. God knows if she wasn't apologetic, maybe wigs would have been flying across the lecture hall . she was so embarrassed. When it comes to my kids, i really don't care who gets hurt for me to protect them. Do whatever you think is right to protect your child, the man is a goat, agreed!
