Boston is a very expensive place. I am not sure if you can get anything within that range. Anyway, you can keep trying, but not sure. All the best.

Hi,am in Boston presently and have toured round the whole city looking for a cheap hospital but I couldnt find one . the charges ranges from 11k,15k,20k.

Though I have made pland to have my baby in elpaso ,not a convenient idea but becos of the cost of delivery in Boston.

Should in case you find any pls let me know ASAP.

pls what's the difference between birth centers and a conventional hospital?

I will advice you as a pregnant woman who have gone round most birth centres in the state I reside in , I am presently in America.
I stand to be corrected ,Birth centres are lovely but the disadvantage is that, should there be a complication during delivery ? you will be taken to the hospital for better attention because birth centres dont have all the life saving equipments an hospital has.

So my dear, the choice is yours and I bet you will marvell at the bill you will later receive as a result of the emergency transfer you received.

@finechikala, For all that my word is worth, I've had NO cause to regret coming to have my baby in Elpaso. So far, so good. Hospital, doctors, baby's documentation, I've got no complaints. I'll keep it short like that so I do not cross into the suspected marketers list. However you could read up my previous posts on the thread to get a better picture of my journey so far. All the best with your plans.

Thanks alot.

Got an apartment, intown suites @ six flags, cost $220/ per week. There are cheaper rooms though I think $189/per week and the place is fantastic

N.B :A tip to getting apartment is to get one close to the clinic you would be doing checkup NOT close to the hospital, cos you would only go to the hospital twice, to register and deliver, the rest would be @ the clinic you select.

I agree with you on the tip you shared .
Pls what is the name of hospital/clinic you chose for check up ,because am using elpaso as well and I intend staying in intown suites as well in feb .

Pls I wont mind any suggestion you present as regard a place near a clinic for check up(s).

Thank you.

Yes they only take appointment when u are in the US. It is assumed that you are a resident so should be able to walk in to register yourself

Hi all, so by the grace of a God, my stay in Elpaso comes to a successful end on Sunday, Jan 11th when I leave for NAija. Shout out to Baba God Himself and his beautiful children on this forum who have contributed immensely to my entire experience so far. Right now, I'm on the lookout for any mom who would be coming to Elpaso soonest ...I've got the cooking and home utensils I've been using for the past 3 months and I'd love to pass it on to any mama who's interested, to save herself the stress if buying anew. A kind NAija mum gave me some of them on my arrival here and the rest I bought. Feel free to pm me if interested so we can work out an arrangement as to where I'd leave them for you just in case ure arriving after I leave. Cheers all

Hi everyone, wonderful thread. I stumbled upon it 2 days ago and have been hooked. I'm already In the Us to give birth. Atlanta precisely. Any Atl mums-to-be in the house?
I only got a few price quotes before travelling and didn't mail my records to any doctor (wish I'd started following this thread earlier). Now I'm having trouble getting a doctor (I'm using Northside) because I'm already 35 weeks, been here for 2 weeks now though. Faxed my records to the one drs office that would even listen coz of my dates and I've been waiting for their response and calling incessantly for over a week now with no meaningful response.
Please can anyone suggest a good and affordable dr at northside who'd be willing to take me on though late? And approximate costs. Thanks
Or maybe I should just port to gwinnet, though it's far from where I m stAying at the moment.
Help pls anyone!
hello please did you finally get a list of doctors or hospitals?

@MrsDan: Congrats on the birth of your LO! Thank God for safe delivery.

Northside Atlanta gave me an estimate of $3550 for vaginal and $5475 for csection
Their Anaesthesia dept quoted $1300 for epidural with 20% discount and $1500 for cs Anaesthesia same discount
My Ob quoted $1600
Don't have a paediatricians quote yet. Hoping MrsDan can help with that.

Atlanta Medical Centre is another okay one.
They quoted $3200 for normal and $5200 for caesarean delivery.

Please take your time and survey very well before you make a decision.
I think that Emory midtown deal is a good one too though. Didn't know about it before.

Hebrewwoman2014, pls can I have ur Dr's details? I'm using Northside and I'm yet to get a Dr. Thanks kiss
