Life is not black and white, things happen, the husband may loose his job or business, a good wife will step in and partner to build a good home. Some homes you don't even know that the wife is the earner.
A man should not be defined by money, he should marry a good considerate wife and also be a calm rational man when he is earning less, help his wife and make life easier for her. This isnt a time to always make her feek guilty but to support her support the home.

Would you prefer Gos forbid he looses his source of income and she had none and they wallow together in poverty?

I have a friend who for years earned more than her husband supported him to do masters and PhD after which he got a better job and gave them a better life thats how marriage should be.

Hmm sorry I have to wonder why this is an issue? After marriage shouldn't the hubby and wifey "draw one rope" Husband+wife=1. Financial situation could change any time and if the woman isn't rich doesn't that set the family to hunger? I thought it should be "us" and "ours" instead of "yours" and "mine" after marriage. It really doesn't matter who is richer or poorer as long as they're not hungry, they are comfortable and it doesn't become and issue of power and control.

People will always 'think' stuff. If she doesn't work and depends on him, they will 'think', so what? Really it's none of their business what happens or who makes bank just ignore it and live your life. Let ppl keep thinking...

It is because of power and control that this becomes an issue. Who ever holds the upper hand may feel compelled to assert their own position more. When it's the woman doing this people will say she has let the money get into her head but if it's the man, he is only being a man. SMH.

Yes, that could happen but it depends on the couple if they reach a conclusion on how they want to run their lives early on irrespective of who is richer it shouldn't be an issue no matter what people say cos the truth is ppl will always find stuff to say. Also a woman who is controlling will still be controlling whether she has loads of cash or bits of peanuts.One can't base every woman off that as some men genuinely are interested in seeing their ladies soar and some ladies know not to take men like that for granted by walking all over them.

yea....she's not the controlling type, keeping calm Wif everything as at now
