It would have been an interesting discussion but one candidate (GEJ) is qualified to contest while the other (GMB) aint. I do not wish to be a part to an illegality. The OP is biased too by cancelling the doctorate in GEJs title. Moreover, on the so-called topics of discussion GEJ has been tested but has buhari done much except that pretentious toga of incorruptibility he hawks like a gala seller 9 Likes |

Actually...there is no need for any debate...What we need is a bet. Which of the GEJites are ready to bet with #50 000 that their man will win. I swear them no fit |

This would be interesting. However both sides have to maintain civility and stick to the debate. No insults , caricatures, name calling. Stick to facts and figures with appropriate references. I also support the fact that a seperate thread should be created for the debate and only those selected should make posts there other comments can be done on this thread. Any of the debaters who strays off would be banned from the thread. GEJ vs GMB. |

TheFreeOne: Oh really? I didn't know GMB had been disqualified. Did that happen tonight? Its sad but I doubt you'll ever get pro-PDP guys to debate. They're out of talking points, the certificate is what they have left that's why they'll say anything no matter how stupid it makes them sound to keep the certificate thing alive. Any chance of a debate between supporters might happen later today (Saturday) between @MrAyeDee (PDP) & @ToluOgunlesi (APC), You can follow any or both of these accounts on twitter to get updates. Both guys are your typical supporters so it should be good if it happens 2 Likes |

Jarus: Taharqa, PointB and the rest Pdp e-warriors, kindly go through the link provided and see how Jarus organized the last debate we had here in 2012. His role is limited to coordination and planning of the debate. I wonder how you think he can influence the outcome of the debate as ultimately it's the readers who will determine the side that presents a more convincing argument. |

PassingShot: [size=15pt] They will not because there are no paid jonathanian here in Nairaland, there may certainly be for the Buharians cus the level of zealousness and a particular group of name that comments in every thread here is much to compare that of Jonathanians which is more or less passers-by in a thread and feel like commenting. Lets have debate topics centered on the following : Security Health Youth Empowerment Corruption Governance Economy Agriculture Rule Of Law Transparency Social Development Security: Jonathan scored low on this but what do you expect, he inherited a demoralize military with no training, no motivation , low morale and lack of equipment. A former military man was president for 8yrs and done nothing to boost their morale, he ruled with the old ideas of keeping the military in check by starving them of necessary tools of development. Jonathan is fighting the root of decay by challenging and working with innoson motors to develop home grown equipment and military hardware. Health: Ebola case: For the first time in Nigeria history, the international community agreed we done well in fighting the virus and the nation is used as a case study and praised for her efficiency and timely intervention. The nation will be polio free soon source: WHO. The only region holding back is the northern Nigeria, ironically the opposition candidate is from the region: do we have any evidence he tried to help? No. Most of his kids are abroad anyway. Youth empowerment: Can we talk about Nigeria growth today without talking about the resurgence of agriculture? No. Direct supply of fertilizer has cut out the "middle men" and save the nation loads of money and cut off corruption in that sector. For the first time in our history, we have graduate who are proud to call themselves farmers, no more shame to be farmer and we now understand the only way to our development is through agriculture that was neglected for decades, a former president who himself is a farmer cldnt even make the sector work in his 8yrs as president. The opposition candidate who has loves his cows has no history of any contribution whatsoever in that sector. Through agriculture we can develop all other sectors I.e 1.Manufacturing I.e tools, heavy machinery. 2. Medical field I.e development of drugs 3. Improve financial sectors I.e loans to farmers These and many more will provide jobs directly and indirectly. Corruption: Corruption has eat deep into our system, no single man either Buhari or Jonathan can eradicate poverty with a magic wand. No nation on earth can eradicate corruption because it is impossible to do. Unfortunately corruption is the only vessel that moves money from the top of the ladder to the bottom of our society I.e a corrupt government official who steal our money to build house will employ bricklayers (the lower end of the ladder) these bricklayers, drivers, cleaners, house helps even bankers can only survive on these stolen wealth because this is the only way money moves around. If you cut the corruption at the top, it will only grow back. Do you think the man that makes $3 million per month through oil subsidy will let you take it away without a fight? The best way to fight corruption is to create another channel for prosperity to reach those at the end of the ladder. I.e e- wallet in the agriculture sector. 2. You- win initiative where the youths don't need to rely on "chairman" to give them money, they have the opportunity to come up with a good business idea and the government will support it. The rest will follow later. I will back my farm needs my attention courtesy of Jonathan administration. 1 Like |

Acidtalk is not being sincere here. He talked about being neutral in his first post, but we obviously could judge from his posts his alliance to a certain party. I want to believe that putting forward this debate will be unbalanced as the OP will not be valid and impartial to his opponents. I am in the opposition, but we also shouldn't encourage mediocrity and unfairness all because "we want to play politics." |

mrmetoo1: To a myopic mind like yours it may sound silly but it is imperative that nations and its citizens are governed by rules/requirements to avoid breakdown of laws and order. Throwing such laws as regards GMB qualification overboard will definitely breeds chaos thereby gradually turning the country into a banana republic. And should we for the sake of a single individual sets a precedence for such chaos cos a buhari should to be president at all costs. At a cost of disrespecting our own laws and making ourselves a laughing stock to the international community? Why can't APC present a candidate without such baggage? Is it that difficult |
