This nonsense happened to me in 2008 in my zenith bank account.

I threatened fire and brimstone with the help of the union before I got my money back. angry

These days woe betides any bank that would pull that stunt with me because I know how to get my money back by any means necessary.

"The man, who pleaded
anonymity, said he had N3.2
million in his account and went to withdraw N200,000. He had not withdrawn cash for a while, noting that the transaction was done. But since his GSM number which receives SMS alerts was inoperative, he requested for written balance, only to discover that N2.1 million had been withdrawn"
-Source. I suspect the "Elephant Bank", heard that they are experts in such dubious act.

That's how one Zenith babe took a pensioner's N4mil and gave to her boyfriend to travel with and repay before the 77-yr old found out. Unfortunately for her, the boyfriend was never heard of from again.

GTB, a friend's boss insisted he approve a loan he wasn't sure of. The borrower promptly disappeared and the poor boy was in tears whilst the boss was absolving himself of guilt. The junior worker decided to take the case to a top guy in Legal, who figured out the boss and the borrower had connived and issued a warning letter to the boss, immediately the borrower showed up the next day, with tales of "how his phone got lost, his uncle in the village died, no cause for alarm. Etc"

Union Bank, very very common cases of theft there.

These systematic bank frauds enumerated in this article are just carried out by the lesser and ill-informed bankers and their outsider collaborators . The real and big frauds on going in the banking sector is so monumental that should we start to highlight them , even the top pen robbers within the Aso Rock enclave would choose to swap position with some top bankers in other to share in the en masse cake . Banking sector in Nigeria is more corrupt than the assumed most corrupt establishment known as the police force . However , the good thing is not only Nigerian bankers are corrupt , rather it is a global phenomenon among bankers .

With the comments above, it's obvious that most people didn't even read the article before commenting.

Nairaland - A forum where people comment by just looking at the topic and type whatever things that comes to their mind.

Yea, so pathetic. Nairaland is starting to look like linda ikeji's blog...people are more interested in being "first to comment" than with dropping sensible comments. But after the first ten or so useless comments, sensible people start to drop comments.
